Thread: Hit rate problems in PvP.
First my kit.
Rifle:
Assault Bowcaster (without PUP)
Spd: 2.5 base
dmg: 515-1173 (kinetic)
wound: ~30%
sac: 82
Now, the problem I'm finding is that I simply cannot damage a defender Jedi nearly enough to even surpass their Force Infusion let alone their heals as my hits are doing around 200 after Force Aura and Valour.
I might even be able to live with that damage which is atrocious if I didn't miss so much which my to-hit rate on Mdef is sitting at around 50%. I use deuterium pyro and last fight I missed twice directly after it's use jus when I needed it most.
I've not been able to find any accuracy tapes what-so-ever and simply cannot afford much at this time after shelling out so much on my weapon, 8k energy resist armour, good foods etc.
Having used Crispic, Deuterium Pyro, Aim in combination or stacked there seems to be no difference.
I feel like I should just give up these marks or leave my beloved Rifle(Bowcaster) for the fotm MBH/MCM template. But if Rifleman cannot hit more than 50% of the time when we're supposed to be the elite marksman, who can?

firstly i'd get your armor sliced for armor break - the peices arn't that expensive anymore. if you can get your head, legs & chest ADK'd too. with armorbreak slice you'll be likely to last a little longer at least.
Vs M.def i find unless you get a good alpha strike you'll eventually loose (give or take a little for personal skill) take a while tracking them - get your droid out to see their movement,- are they ina city, - check for mission terminals is a good way. are they close toa well known grinding location for your server - ie Mining Outpost on dant. this'll give you time to know the terrain you're in.
get all your accuracy food/ aim, snipershot, advanced critical, kd shots in places you can get to easily. get a damage pup on your rifle. get a doctor buff right before you go to get him (after you know where he is) so you can have the most from your speed buff.
get to about 55m (more if you've got the range arms on - but they're suicide if you get hit on the arms a time or two) go prone, drink your +200 ish accuracy juice, advance aim, KD (240 damage), startleshot (580 damage), snipershot (1310 damage), advanced critical (610 damage), head shot (510 damage). you'd then hit for about 3250 damage Vs m.defender if his aura is running. if you get him mid fight he'll be incapped after the sniper shot, if you're lucky you might get all the shots off before he heals and get a incap. its good then to have some idea of what your target is going to be doing rather than just run in there guns blazing. its imperitive that this string of attacks & foods don't miss, or you hit the wrong key. and especially important for you to stand and burst run to him as soon as he is incapped - he might not be out long. i found it usefull to write it all in one macro i can hit that does it all - drink, prone, aim, KD, etc, then stand, follow, burstrun. take a while testing it ona guildie to get the timings right for your weapon and don't forget to take into account of server/connnection lag!
/prone:
/pause 1;
/ui action toolbarSlot00; (the accuracy drink)
/pause 1;
/aim;
/pause 3;
/underhandshot;
/pause 3;
/startleshot;
/pause 2;
/snipershot;
/pause 5;
/criticalshot;
/pause 2;
/headshot;
/pause 2;
/stand;
/pause 1;
/follow;
/pause 0.5;
/burstrun;
......and then have aseparate macro done somewhere handy for a deathblow - saves getting the radial dial up.
see if that can't get you started
PS, yes this is mainly for BH tracking not face to face Vs jedi but it can still be applied with alittle macro modifying.

you won't hit that hard with aura running... and you'll likely miss at least one of those shots, even with the stacked accuracy, which makes macroing it a very very bad idea. decent tactics overall though, just know against a decent master defender, the fight will *not* be over, and he's probley about to come force running at you, ready to do 800 damage
good points there on the macro...
BUT
i would also have a macro set up with the /dump command in case things go awry
Thanks for the input on tactics but it still doesn't help my extremely low to-hit rate. As a wookiee I'm very limited in skill tape slots but don't see a few extra accuracy doing the trick either.
Defenders know the "drain jedi's force" tactic now, and they have found a way around it.
THey bore you to death, by not fighting, and just defending. You cant drain a defenders force if he just uses aura, and infusion and stays close to you... hell just use saberhit, and eventualy, after an hour or so, youll either leave, or your armor will wear out.
My goal is to outlast the Jedi's Mind, as Force can be gained too easily channeling... but all this I do.
The fact that a MCM hits at the same rate and damage as a MRM only goes to show that there must be a flaw in the system with regards to Rifle Accuracy.
So maybe the answer isn't to increase accuracy but to decrease it and go MCM/MBH.
