Thread: Dancer/Musician MIND BUFFS = 2 HOURS and 2x base stats
Was just looking over the next major update, and what do i see?
- Dancer - Increased the effect of dance mind buffs. A master can now increase a stat up to double of its base value. Maximum durations have been increased to 2 hours.

Musician - Increased the effect of musician mind buffs. See Dancer above.
Since i'm a wookie, I can get my stats up to 2200/1300/1200 (or is it 2200/1200/1300? forgot whcih). I think this just solved some of our ham costs problems, (not a complete fix, but a close and very good workaround). Rifleman are about to become the largest tippers of Musicians/dancers around. I know i will be finding every one near town (maybe we need to post in their forums for mroe of them to list their titile as master when they make it?)

there was also something about dancers/musicians being able to get a faction perk that would help there healing and mind buffing by 25%, now i'm not sure if this was on top of the 2x max to the base or if it will just increase the minimum they will buff either way works great for me
....drooling .....mind 2k...focus 1k...willpower 1.8k +25% for 2 hours.....ok thats the absolute max which won't happen but its a good dream
plus muon gold 2.5k mind, 1.5k focus, 2.3k will nice...very nice
entertainers are gonna get spammed by rifleman and doctors....BUFFFFFFFFFFF MEEEEEEEEEE....plz i have credits ![]()
Two fixes with 1 swoop, no nerf needed...
I might have to reactivate my account if they keep this up. Of course I won't be able to read the forums to see what's going on unless I reactivate my account.
This change is a horrible horrible thing. Yeah it may be good for rifleman but guess what, this one swoop single handedly killed both the entire chef profession and spices.
I can't believe it has gotten to the point where the devs will completely ignore the effects changes will have on other professions.
Now all a person will need to do is find a doctor for some health and action buffs, find some AFK 'macro-tainer' and they're good to go.

I though it was bad when I was GIVING away Breath of Heavens in Anchorhead at prime time and no one wanted any.....Now we are left with a meager short term buff that will in all likely hood drop another stat for the same amount of time. Best I can make is just over 500 mind for 12 minutes. Now I can get 900 mind and 500 will/focus by watching a dancer work as I get a snack before hunting that will last 2 hours? I just hope they give us a useful rifle sometime soon, as I'm on one of the T-21 free servers (Radiant).

hehe I'm not a chef but I feel their pain, they are the worst treated profession by the devs. Thank you for backing up my position on the macro-tainer buff. It just doesn't make any sense what-so-ever. They go from a buff that lasts like 10 minutes all the way up to 2 hours! How do they justify a leap like that? I bet their only argument for it was "well doc buffs can last that long" and since the devs don't think about chefs (an entire profession based on buffing but somehow the worst at it) they said ok yeah thats fair.
They have also completely rendered spices obsolete now like I said, and this along with the crippling of the dirty fighting skill tree, smugglers have been reduced to nothing but slicers, nothing more thats all they are now.
All this change does is give everyone free mind buffs, and possibly increase the tips for the entertainers who are actually at their keyboard.
Not to rub salt into the chefs wounds, this info is for the rifleman part in you. The dancer correspondent just said that this is a targretable buff and that it does not take two hours to do. Which is good news for you chefs, people can't just watch an AFK macroer and get it. They have to be targeted by a master dancer to get it. So it is not completely gloom and doom for you.
Also finding a master dancer in the not so populated towns or any entertainer for the most part is a task in itself. I play out of Keran on Naboo and am lucky to see more than one or two people in town at any given time.
The current mind buffs of Master dancers/musicians are 30 minutes long and give 500 to each mind stat [Have to watch for 15 minutes]. So they are only upping the duration 4x and the strength ~1-2x (IF they have their mind stats maxed). If the person had less than 500 for focus or willpower, then they will be getting less of a boost.
Lets face it,a longer mind boost is needed. I would haveprefered it to be food, but watching a dancer works just as well for me. Maybe this will be the push the devs need to change food from attribute boosting to skill boosting (terrain neg, +aiming, +surveying, etc).

This is seriously the best news I've heard about the game in weeks; no more constant neurotic worrying over my mind draining ( pun intended ![]()

I also hope they look closely at upping the buff power on food, as the chefs have been a severly neglected profession, and they deserve some Dev lovin' too.
