Thread: Top 5 list of the week

OK after much discussion, I am puting up a unch of problems that were brougth up in the week, and puting the top5 I feel, along with the others who showed potential. Certain things were mix and match, so I am not putting them in my top 5 list, but if significant amount of people say it should in this thread, then it may change.


Top 5- ( not in any order)


Stopping When bieng shot (stutter step)


- Armor Penetration, or AR system not working properly.


- Conceal Shot to a pre-styl much similar to AIM


- Ghuille Suit (further explanation go the the topic on it)


- Add precision heart Shot or precision knee shot to the master rifleman line. To give us the ability to hit all pools. In order to assist better, since the game is now an assist game, and it requires us all doing the same damage.

Other things brought up, but didnt quite get the support. These have the possibility of making it in as my personal issue, or into the top 5. I said I will not be sending a report in, but I got no email saying to old off, just they were backed up. And that there going to respond to all, early next week. So I am sending in a report, since it seems they got to theo ther 2 already.


- AoE bug, not doing actual damage when it should be. Shows up in combat window, but not on the HAM bars. It dizzys, or stuns, but not do damage. (I wanted to put this on top 5, but lacked evidence, going to get a screen shot in next week)


- +20 to melee defense changed to increase block. I decided not to put this in becuase of mixed amount of people wantin it and not wanting it. I would say it was about 50/50. Hopefully we can work this out next week.


- Concealment +20, is broken, should help us conceal more often when it does not. (This was partially brought up in one of my other reports wich is the reason I did not put it in top 5)


- Sniper Shot more accurate. (This received tons of support, but lacked logs, or screen shots.) I failed to get a post up in time to discuss this, partially my fault. I will bring it up next week.


- DLT20a AR1, received alot of support, but others received more.


If you feel, one of these should be in the top 5, please say so, wich one should be in the top 5, and wich one you think should be dropped. If it receives enough support It will be dropped. The report will be going in tommorow night. Sorry for the late notice, but I did not receive the email until yesterday, that they were finished looking at the other reports, and were going to answer them. Up until that point, I was not going to send one in, so they didnt get backed up even more.

Should have read over what I said, such bad typing today. Just woke up. I tohught my coffee Would help, but I think it made my fingers faster then my brain thinking were to put them.

Does the AR problem include T21 being AR0 instead of AR3 andTusken Rifle being AR0 instead of 1? Plus AR not working on unarmoured people in PvP?


If so this is my top 1 and 2. Love the conceal shot pre-style idea.

The AR issues concerns all weapons that are AR1-3 and are not when attacking un-armored people.

Again Aldeon, I really appreciate the way you aknowledge my posts and descriptions of the problems I found. I try my best to explain very clearly my findings so it can help the devs see exactly where the problem lies and you always fail to say "ok flyo, roger that, I understood exactly what you explained and I'll relay it to the devs" (or not). It's like the 5th time I go into lenghtly details to explain the issues I find and you never ONCE aknowledged it with such a sentence...

"are not" what? Are not doing the extra damage?


And you still didn't say if you were planning to include the T21 or the tusken rifle being AR0 in that report...

I have already included the T21 not bieng AR3 in a report. Im sorry if my wording was bad, but ALL weapons that are not working properly with AR issues are included in this issue. Including armor not working as intended.

Ok, that's good to know, I hope we at least an answer/fix on that T21 issue very soon...


But again, you didn't tell me if you understood and took note of what I described inthe first post I made in this topic.

Sneak shot does not work, at least for me with a DLT, I take cover and its says I can not perform this action with this weapon.


Making a DLT AR1 sounds great since its the only rifle you an really use on Starsider.


Lower the HAM costs. My DLT has a mind cost of 26. It costs me 65 mind to fire HS3. My Scatter has a Action cost of 51 and its costs me 64 to fire Eye Shot. Our specials are way to expensive. I tried using a Jawa Ion and it cost me 120 to shoot HS3, its mind cost was about the same as the scatter, I think the costs should be the same. The Scatter Eyeshot combo hits just as hard as the DLT HS3 combo but it does it more than twice as fast. In my opinion rifles should have the LOWEST costs for specials. You can just heal away what ever you used with Carbines and Pistols. With rifles you have no choice but to sit it out. So you kill things much faster with the other weapons and you have much less down time because you can just use a stim.


Make conceal shot a pre-shot like aim sounds great to me. I hate that it hits every HAM and takes me so long to kill anything with it. Using a pistol I can rip through torturs about 5 times as fast as I can with my rifle using conceal. I took BH for eyeshot for back up, it seems to be more of a primary attack more often than not.


I can not get one yet but I think fixing the T-21 should be high on the list. It is the top rifle in our line and should work properly. From what I hear the AR rating needs to be addressed ASAP. I also hear that you never has a positive attack modifier with it. It is 0 and 60 yards and is negative for any other range. I think that is BS considering it is supposed to be the best rifle in the game.


That is my main beafs with rifleman right now, there are more but addressing these would make me very happy

Well it isn't the only rifle you can use on Starsider, I have a decent E11 that with the armor bonuses added up does the same damage or more sometimes as my really good DLT20a, but is much faster. Once people start experimenting on more E11s, they will eventually be much better than a DLT20a.

Flyo I fully understand what you are talking about, I have said so in the original post bringing up the AR issues, and I have seen your screen shots.

Aldeon, in my original AR post, I only discussed it on PvP because at that time I didn't know it had problems in PvE. I recently found out that it also has problem in PvE because it seems like when you have no resist % at all (no armor or not listed in examine panel) the AR value is just ignored. Read my first post in this topic for more detail on PvE versus Greater Womp Rats.

^ That kind of info could probably help the devs fix the problem much much faster as they will know exactly where to look, instead of a vague "AR is broken" description, once they know exactly what is wrong and where to look the time fixing the coding is like halved or even less.

Aldeon, im going to put these topics you mentioned into my own personal list scaled from most needed to least needed. Im also adding one to the list which hasnt been talked about much but i think it seriously needs attention (its number 3on the list). As an avid follower of the boards, a experienced PvPer, and a PA leader, ive had experience with almost every part of this game. These are the things i think need to be fixed (in the order they need to be fixed) and why:


1. Stutter Step - Absolutely one of the worst bugs. Its annoying, deadly, and decidedly game-breaking. Get it fixed ASAP.


2a. Conceal Shot - This has the potential to be one of our class-defining skills. Something that can compare to the knockdowns the other classes get. Change it to a pre-attack and make it live up to its full potential.
2b. Fix the agro bug that allows social creatures to attack you when you Conceal Shot a friend.


3. Lack of non-social high level mobs - I have been searching for weeks for high level monsters to fight that arent social. I was having a good time hunting Baz Nitches but now that SOE (in their infamous wisdom) decided to make them social I am SOL again. For some reason almost EVERYTHING is social at the top levels. Even "stupid" creatures like snakes and spiders are social. Meanwhile some mid level "intellegent" creatures like apes are non-social. Something needs to be done. As is the only people who can hunt at high levels are creature handlers and pistoleers/carbineers/BH's with knockdowns (yay).


4. Precision Shots - Precision Shots to mind/health/action need to beadded toour tree. It can either go in rifleman, or go inone of thebranches. I dont think anyone would miss flurry shot getting axed in favor of precision shots. Doing this would help define rifleman as.. rifleman.


5. Block/Melee Defence/Concealment: These 3 skills (which 75% of our tree is devoted to) are either broken and useless, or worthless and useless. Block needs to do something. Melee Defence needs to be changed to something useful (not something useful to a melee class). Concealment needs to not only help concealment chance to succeed, but add additional defencive bonuses against ranged attacks.


6. Armor Penetration - Not only does the T-21 need to be fixed but the DLT20a needs AR1 as well. Yes, BOTH of these go in my top 5. DLT20a is our best "assault-rifle" and T-21 is our top "sniping rifle". Both of these are AR=0. Fix it.


7. AOE Bug: You explained it fine. Personally I think AOE's are retarded, stupid, ignorant, un-inspired, etc, etc, etc.. for a rifleman. However, if the devs are too lazy/stupid tothinkup a skill that makes sence.. ill settle for an un-inspired skill that works correctly.


8. Snipershot/Ghuile Suit: neither of these are particularly game breaking. They can go in whenever.
