Thread: How does 75% pvp damage help us?
Your not supposed to compete. When a guy who has mid range experience goes up against a guy who had the best experience with his weapon, your not going to win. Your not supposed to win.
The way 75 percent damage decrease helps us is becuase we do un healable damage. A pistoleer is going to do 150-250 damage. Thats with no armor, put on some composite, and you will see it alot less. If you have novice medic, you can get 300-800 pt heals off. With a bit of first aid that is. You can easily heal the damage they do. Now you take the 500 damage the T21 will do, you cant heal that. 2 shots and there dead, and it will take them alot when they cant hurt you. You will be able to out heal them, they cant outheal you.
The author (and the departed TekDragon) seem correct. As things stand now, Riflepersons stay alive by doing as much damage as they canbefore they can get to them (generally by a singleshot). With 75% damage, this is no longer possible.
I approve of the 75% reduction in damage, but now classes need re-balancing for PvP. Given the defensive weaknesses of Riflepersons, why do they have no ability to try to keep an enemy at bay? In my opinion, the Knockdown ability should be stripped from BH's and given to Riflepersons (heh, wouldn't that annoy them). We have a much greater need for it than they do.

What I don't understand is how is introducing massive HAM costs for knockdown going to stop it being spammed when in the same patch you allow weaponsmiths to reduce HAM costs. Surely smart players will get weapons that do less damage but cost almost no HAM so they simply spam knockdown for longer.
Knockdown needs a timer in PvP, that stupid 50% extra damage taken off and you shouldn't be able to knockdown prone players.
This is crazy. I am working my way up the sniper pole and they rip it out from under me. I have almost no insentive to become a rifleman if all I am going to do is drop dead once I shoot a person now.

Who says we cannt 1 shot. With a powerup on my laser i have frequently hit for 3-4K+ damage. 4400 being the highest i've gotten off yet. God knows what T21 at AP3 can do.
Unless my math is off i'll still be 1 shottingpretty often after the patch.
Not if they have doctors buffs up, you won't be one shotting people. Doctors can buff for upto 2k in ham from what I have read. Also they can eat food and spices to further offset this. I think this is probably the worst thing to happen to us yet.
Also stealth does not do jack in pvp, you still show up as a little red dot coming at them. I always leave the map up because of this.
Not sure how to read the 75% does it mean that I am doing 75% less damage or does it mean I am doing 75% of what I would normally do?

Its simple, effecient, and makes sence. It would make master BH's very powerful, and prevent all the dabblers who take BH pistol line and master pistoleer to become gods.
