Thread: How does 75% pvp damage help us?
Unismurf makes a very good point; I don't think riflemen are intended to be frontline or for that matter solo PvP warriors. We're a support class.
When I think of a battle, I'm picturing two oppossing groups consisting of squads of at least 5 or more people minimum. That squad can be divided again into two groups; shock troops ( the one that will lead the charge straight into enemy lines - gunslingers, TKs , carbineer, as well as a medic hovering close behind them ) and support units - the snipers. It's our job to hack away at the enemy when they're tied up and engaged with our frontline troops. Give a sniper with a decent rifle enough time and cover and we will do devestating damage to enemy mind pools ( damage which cannot be healed ). Put a sniper on the front line and he's dead.
Thats a good theory, except that its fatally flawed:
Rifleman are supposed to be support charachters, hitting mind at a long distance.
However, master pistoleers who take the BH pistol line are able to do 10 times theDPS we can, with more accuracy even at the top ranges. If that wasnt bad enough, they can hit the mind too.
I came into this game thinking rifleman were snipers.
Now I realize that BH pistol/master pistoleers are the true snipers. Were just washed out losers with 75% of our tree either broken or not living up to its potential.
pardon me guys, why not think out side of the box and get a different gun. If you dont like standing there getting shot...spraysticks are liek 25-175 w/2.0 speed.... it lets you use your rifle tree, and have a decently fast wepon..
