I wouldn't encourage you to do pvp intill you get master riflemen. Advanced strafe is just awesome in pvp. I Have a 150-399 t-21I can do about 2k damage to any mob and I can half someones health assuming I hit and kill in 3 shots. Last shot is sniper shot

dmg slice it and put a 33%dmg/Mind powerup on it, to get the full effect.

(mine is something like 160-597 with the powerup).

enjoy! and don't forget your dmg sliced/poweredup Jawa rifle for composite piercing.

I consider TEF killing someone who is half dead from fighting 3 NPC's to be a bitcowardly, but hey that's just me. I can honestly say that I have never done that and don't intend to. Where is the challenge or the risk?

PVP in this game isn't about you being the best one on one it is about winning battles for your faction. Team work should be valued a lot more than your ability to 'pwn' someone one on one.

The way I look at it is this. I am simply herassing the other side while they are doing missions. Its a military tactic that is used in guerilla warfare. Works pretty well in this game too. Plus it makes em mad and thats fun too... In an evil sort of way. If there was a class designed just to make people POed then I would be master of that.

Since I am not master rifle yet I do not have SS2 so I dont get the 5x/4 multiplier yet. I am climbing the tree much faster than I was about a week ago. I started learning of what things to hunt and what not to hunt and I gain about 50k XP per hour. Hopfully I will be master by at least the end of the month.

but its random pool. you can hit their mind, action, and health technically (even though health is hit most commonly). so it will take you 3 or 4 shots...

And if it takes you two shots, minimum, to kill them (you can be unlucky like i said) then you are in trouble with uber professions like BH, commando and pistoleer who can one or two shot you at higher speed and accuracy.

why would they need 'higher speed and accuracy' if they can "one shot you" ?

pistol-wielding BH's and Pistoleers do not one shot people, sorry.

at master rifle/master marksman you shoot just as fast as any pistoleer or BH. but you have armor piercing, better dmg, area of effect, and'better' dmg types (good energy, good stun) - what is it exactly that gives you the impression we are so weak? I'm not seeing it...

hehe. i had a lot of trouble getting a good dmg slice (actually, I got 8 speed slices in a row!) -

now i have two t21's over 450 max dmg from slices. (before powerup). try Kunga missions on dantooine(with a group) for tons of cash to buy T21's in bulk. hehehe

I pvp all the time and Im not a master. Of course my kill ratio is only about 4:1 so not the best. Plus it all depends on how I fight. If I am one on one in the wide open then I am generally dead but my favorite thing to do is go TEF hunting. Sneak up on some poor sap and blast them to pieces once they start firing at their target. I get a lot of flames from people because of this but hey thats life. If they want to do reb or imp missions without any risk then they are playing the wrong game.

While TEF hunting I can sometimes manage about 10 kills before anyone kills me. Plus I am only half way up the rifleman tree. I plan on making master prolly before Dec. but till then I still plan on killing lots of other players.

I think what bugs me so much about PvP is that it seems I need to be a Master to be competitive. That bugs me because your advantage is due to skill or experience...but do to special attacks. PvP combat is more dependent of specials than tactics more often than not.

Im mean consider this. Lets say your in real combat. The difference between a skilled, veteran sniper and the rookie sniper is not neccessarily a better gun, special bullet, special attack, etc. Its the experience of the veteran that tells him go here and not there, expect this and not that, be patient or its time to leave.

Instead this game is more like because you the veteran you get the bigger gun...you get a .50 cal barret that shoots up to 1600m while the rookie gets a rifle that fires only 800m. But the then the veteran's gun also fire 3 shot burts with tungenston rounds and no-recoil.

Whats even worse, the rookie sniper as to deal with the fact that other proffessions with higher classes of skill are able to circumvent the inherit advantages ofhis ownsniper proffesion. So now a master pistoleer is just as capable at fighting and defeating you even when you play your strengths.

This makes no sense to me. This game seems to be built so much on speculation that it destroys the concept of combat and tactics, but instead places it in the realm of special move spamming. The inherit plus and minus of a proffesion are erased, the proffesions becomeirrelevantand in the end the only thing that matters is being a Master because it will almost insure the 1-2 shot kill regardless of proffesion.
