If SOE begins to see one proffesion growing to strong, you input an option to counter that.Consider this. Tanks arean infantry' worst night mare, but create environments hostile to tanks and benefical to infantry. these are close quarter urban environments.you create an infantry class or availble infantry weapon to counter the tank. This would beexplosive charges, anti-tank rockets, RPGs, Anti-tank guns. So now in the open the tanks reign supreme, unlessInfantry bring a stand-off anti-tank weapon to bear on target. In the city, Infantry reign supreme unless the tanks bring infantry of their own to protect them.

Snipers have the advantage of cover and concealment, but against groups, they dont stand a chance. The snipercant kill them all. his position will be given away with repeated shots, he must move to keep the enemy guessing and when he si moving he is out of his element. K-9 units(CH prof) used dogs to hunt down snipers. Once the estimated direction of teh sniper is deermined, you send the dog out to hunt him down. You can use smoke to conceal your positions and movementfrom the sniper. You take acouple of people and split up to flank him. If the game used physics, balistics and line of sight you could actually use the heavy weapons proffesion to lay downsuppression fire. It forces the sniper to take cover and disengage. Thiscould be done typically with a lightmachine gun...heavy one too if you like. Of course being a heavy weapon, it wouldnt be very accurate, would like require it be used prone. etc.

A little thought, real life references and parallels and you can create a game that require tactics, promites team work and makes specific specialzed proffessions actually special.
