I just got a beam rifle as it seemed like a good rifle, only to find that I'm not certified to use it. I checked the other professions anddidn't find acertification for it. Did I miss something or is this gun simply not useable?

not usable, and i think it's a heavy weapon so it'll go to the commandos

Currently it's the mystery gun, there isn't a single profession that can use the Beam Rifle. Don't get this mixed up with the Acid Beam Rifle, there's a difference. I bought one for the hell of it and also hoping that one day they'll have a profession that can use it, hoping it would be Riflemen of course

This post is true. I'll try to get some screenshots to prove it....

I boughta Beam Rifle for grins. ICAN use it!It is awesome.
Here are some of the massive damage numbers I did with it:

10, 15, 7, 17, 11.....

I can't believe I gave up my CDEF pistol for this monster!
But I have to admit, it is even more of a manly-looking rifle than the T21!

No, its a commando weapon. I have 3 crates of them. They are charged weapons and have limited number of uses.

What do you mean by a charged weapon? Does that mean I can get mine charged somehow? If so, since I can fire it (and I have NO commando skills), will it fire with more power? It might take a while to kill a Krayt with those 11 and 15 damage hits....

The beam rifle does 2-4k damage on random HAM pools. They usually have 28-32 uses to each one.

*Charged, meaning 28-32 shots per unit.

HPBC or a HEAVY particle beam cannon. This is a commando weapon and is a consumable weapon. That is you pay 10 to 15K apiece. Once the charges are used up you throw it away. Most of the serious Heavy weapons are consumables and tend to be very inaccurate even at master.

The HAR or Heavy acid rifle is broken. It's damage does not stack and is generally ignored by the Commandos. Commandos in all honesty tend to use the flamethrower to an extreme because of the generally "unfinished" or "broken"status of the rest of the commando weapons.

Sorry, I'm being dense here. Do you....
(a) buy charges somewhere to use with this gun? Or...
(b) are you saying the gun is charged when you get it and then you throw the gun away after 28-32 shots?

If (a) who sells the charges and can only Commandos apply them?

If (b) Does this mean the one i bought is probably just one that is all used up?

When you buy them it comes with a certain amount of charges, just like when you buy a stim pack. When you've used it that's it, it's junk.

And I have a feeling you two are talking about two different things. When you've used up the charges you can't fire it anymore.

The beam rifle and heavy beam canon are 2 diffrent weapons, the rifle is a weapon they forgot to place, it would be nice to have it as a master rifleman weapon
