I recently looted a Beam Rifle, and am not certified for it as a Master Rifleman (Zabrak), yet it does not say what the certification for it is.... anyone know?

Beam Rifle was a Beta Commando weapon whose cert never made it live.

bah thats what i figured... too bad too since it looks like it has a nice tight damage range, even though its only AP1, it still looks pretty cool

Weaponsmiths can also craft heavy warheads, and chemical warheads, neither is used in anything.
And the republic blaster was not certified to anyone either at first, then it was added to everyone, and then moved to novice pistoleer.
There are lots of thing left over from beta that should have been removed long ago. Not long ago the DEV's finally commented on the HTFB (from ranger), and the fact that its description does not fit its function (another left over from beta).
