I always use a MaskScent/T-21/Laser/Spraystick combo for everything.

Mask Scent usually enables you to get your two bleed shots off and get a head start against fast creatures in the running game. So if you have it, use it.

I use the T-21 for a good and powerfull first shot, laser is much much quicker so use it as your second shot to reduce agro and long delay time.

1 Get at optimum range, Take out T-21 and mindshot2

2 Take out Laser and MindShot1

3 Take out Spraystick and enforce and control with supression fire followed by WarningShot/Peace cycle until taget is completly dead.

This is the technique i used up until master and i still use is often now.

Owen-Lars, I'm about to enter this profession, and I've got a few questions for you.

1) Why do you use MindShot1 when you have MindShot2? Does 1 have a different effect over 2 or what?

2) Why do you throw in a Peace command? Does this affect the timer?

I'm new to the profession, and I'm just looking for help.

Thanks!!

Mind shot 1 & 2 stack on top of each other...good idea for larger mobs

If you shoot a critter with Warning Shot and make it turn and run...and then shoot it again with another Warning Shot while it's running away, it will turn around and come back towards you.

So generally I take out the Stick That Sprays(tm) and spam Warning Shot until the critter turns. As SOON as he turns and starts running away, I spam Peace to keep from firing again.

I generally unequip the weapon instead of clearing and peacing the combat window. Not only will I not take 2.5x damage if something comes up a melees with me, but I can regroup at my leisure.

When I was where you are, I went with a laser rifle. You could try a T-21 with a speed slice and a speed reducing power-up if ya want something different though

Pick up a cheap T21 at the bazaar and thrash the hell out of it. Because it is Armour piercing, things fall alot quicker. At 6K max, u can afford to power it up to ur hearts content and not worry about ruining it. Get concealshot early and learn to make it ur best friend. Its a hard grind but worth it at master

deffintly get a t21, either sort of slice works fine, imo. the heavy armor piercing makes all the difference.

Given two slices (one damage and one speed) at the same percent change, you will find that the average damage per second (DPS) increase for either slice is exactly the same. That is, an 35% damage slice will raise the DPS by 35% by raising the average damage 35% over the same time frame. On the other hand, the 35% speed slice will raise the DPS by 35% by hitting for the current average damage 35% more often. Thus, it is a matter of taste as to whether you want hit 35% harder per hit or 35% faster. This changes, however, when you hit the speed cap. Additional weapon speed will not affect the DPS when you hit the cap because you cannot fire faster than 1 shot per second no matter what. At that point, you want damage slices.

However, powerups are a little different. Again, once you hit the speed cap, only go with damage powerups because more speed will not change anything. But before you cap, speed is better. A 33% speed powerup will raise your DPS by 33%. A 33% max damage powerup will only raise the DPS by about 25% and even a 33% Max damage/ 16% Min damage powerup will only raise your DPS by about 29%. So until you cap, the Speed powerup actually gives you the highest DPS.
