Thread: To those who complain about riflemen
I have been a master rifleman for some time now, and i can honestly say the profession is 100% different than when you are not at the master level. For those who are masters, you know what i am saying everytime u use flury shot1 and the numbers fly off your head as fast as you've ever seen them. In pvp ( i defend theed often), anyone you target is dead. 2 or 3 headshots, in the time it takes most to get off one shot, and they are down. One sniper shot and uve got a kill.
When i pvp, i just stand there, tabbing from one target to the next, spamming strafe2 and headshot2 all day. No time for bleeds or dizzy. If they sic a pet on you, suppress and dizzy the pet, then target the owner. Once he is dead the pet will no longer attack you. Warning shot will also suffice.
Those that complain heavily about rifleman (and im not flaming here, just stating) have never experienced the true joys of being a master, especially after sucking for so bad while climbing the trees. In my opinion, the only change rifleman does actually need is more balance across the trees. We have a difficult grind up to master, since we are so ineffective before that point.
Personally i feel that the speed and accuracy bonuses should be spread out amongst the trees, making the acutal mastery of the profession a smaller step than it is now. Before any of you swear off rifleman and go pistoleer or carbine, take the time to master it. You will be rewarded with easily the best combat class in the game.
though i must admit that 2.5x melee penalty really sucks whenever i get incapped by a capper...

man Im 2,1,0,3 in rifleman and I own EVERYTHING I come across (it took me 1.5 months to learn to fight with a rifle and believe me Im STILL learning) I cant imagine what it must be like at master. No I don't use pets, they actually slow me down. A good rifleman is a terror... a master rifleman... Ahh I've been one shoted by a few, they are tough fella's. I love rifleman. I've been a pistoleer and its good for fast hard hack and slash (so to speak) never been a carbineer but the seem pretty cool as well. but I surrendered a rancor for rifleman because I was more dangerous with good rifle skills and no pet than I was with a full grown rancor and low rifle skills... To all the master rifles out there, keep up the good work, I hope to be among you eventually
i find it amazing that you can own anything even at 2-1-0-3 rifle, because i know i definitely couldn't, at least not without a pet. I first realized just how good master rifleman was when i started using strafe2 on packs of fambaas and dropped 3 of them in no time, doing 3k area of effect on all. Before that one skill box i was nothing but a self-incapper with a large gun.
it will at master,, the only duels i have lost in recent memory were all to smugglers with panic shot.,

I hope rifleman gets better, but as of now I think it is lacking.

And the 2.5x is too high, and nothing (IMO) is worth it because you're getting too extreme if you properly balance it. 1.75x would be the max, IMO. The max.

the 2.5 times damage penalty is actually balanced...
the reason why? b/c riflmen is an easy tree to master... you can combine it with another class to even out the imperfections...
A riflemen should be at 64m when firing... SO!!! you have about 4 chances against someone with burst to kill them... mmm, flurry1, suppression, they get kd'ed if your lucky, if not, you just bought yourself an extra shot...
If it has 6k or less ham, 2 strafe2's should do the trick...
The 2.5 times penalty is for the people who can't find a way to deal with it...
Take off your rifle and brawl, the great thing about riflemen, is you can master another class on top of it

Funny that people are still hung up on looking at Profession vs Profession still. They still have not realized that it is not which profession is better, but which TEMPLATE is better.
When I look at my template, am I really a Rifleman, does that ONE profession define my character? Having Master Rifleman, Master TKA, and Fencing, I am much more then just a Rifleman.
Lobo makes alot of sense and is 100% correct.
You don't just look at Master pistoleer, you look at the Master Pistoleer + 3-0-4-0 BH(First 3 is for jedi bounties)
OR My Favorite
Smuggler 0-0-4-0 BH 0-0-4-0 Pistoleer 0-2-0-3
