Lobo -

Your outlook is totaly defeatist. Nobody with balls is going to buy what you're selling. Basically, here's your argument:

1.) We're screwed unless we're a master or in a group. That's the way it is. Deal with it. You picked the wrong class, etc.

What I'm saying is, why the hell should we be the only combat class with these restrictions? Why should we just accept that we're mis-designed and be OK with that? Do you really, honestly expect everyone to just bend over like you have? It's not gonna happen. Shut up with your "we're balanced in faction vs faction" crap. It's totally irellevant to this discussion.

Saying "1 vs 1 can never be balanced" is total bull**edit**. If we had a counter to knockdown, it WOULD be balanced. It's that simple.

No I realized what I needed to do to get the most out of the profession and made Master.

See you are still caught up in dueling. If you havnt realized it yet, I really dont care what our profession can or can't do in a duel, its not what SOE's vision of PvP is in SWG. You cant get passed the idea that some classes are built to be great in one on one encounters, that is just something you will have to deal with on your own. Anyone that has played DAoC understands where I am coming from on this. What you are saying is like a Healer saying his class sucks because he cant kill a tank 1on1.

There is a counter to knockdown. If you spent even a few minutes looking at all the skills you would see it is well with in the skill points to have a +105 to knockdown. If it is that **edit** important for you not to be knocked down then spec for it. Tell then sthu.

You have to understand the type of person Tek is. This type of person has no clue about balance, he wants one thing and one thing only, to win. If rifleman had a attack that everyone thought was to strong he would be defending it with the same passion he is showing in his whinning about the weakness of Rifleman. It all comes back to the #1 thing for him, winning.

"Elite PvP PA" that is classic, still lmao.

**edit**... lobo, I don't know how you could come to that conclusion. If you read his posts, all he's saying is that we need a counter to knockdown. Knockdown comes early for pistol users, making them viable right away. Meanwhile, we're not that viable until master. And this is an imbalance. I don't see how you can argue with that.

Nobody wants to win every time. We want it to be a challenge, to be fun, to take strategy, planning, skill. BUT - we want the other guy to have to do that too. That's all.

Actually Luella check Carbineer you will see that you can get +15 without having to max the line. Also its about give and take, you cant have everything.

My point is tell someone actually specs to stop knockdown no one here has the right to say if the attack is to powerfull or not. I know of no one that has, so how can we justifiably state that it is overpowered? How can we cry for a knockdown counter when no one has even tried to use the counter that is already placed in game?

We shouldnt be asking for a special counter, but asking if the defenses in game actually work, and are worth the time, and spec points. If someone is willing to gain over 9 mill xp, and 800K+ of combat xp to have extra defenses they best be working. Not to mention having no flexability because they have to go pure combat professions.

Silverlobo, I assume this is howyou come up with+105 against Knockdown.

Assuming you must have Master Rifleperson,+105 vs Knockdown is from:

40 from maxing the Footwork ladder in Fencer;

20 from the third tier of Balance in TKA;

15 by maxing the Defence ladder in Swordsman; and

30 by maxing Stance and Grips in (you guessed it) Pistoleer!

All of which leaves you with 9 spare skill points, and unable to get Suppression1in Ranged Combat.

>>>Who wants to play were a guy one shots you and you dont have a chance to fight back?<<<

I would imagine it feels a lot similar to being spam-Knockdowned and not having a chance to fight back.

I just love how Lobo and Aldeon argue "You got owned because you werent in a group! This is a GROUPING game, not a 1v1 style PvP game"

Yet they both fail to grasp the seemingly obvious point that this was a 1v1 battle. I didnt have a group, yes, but NEITHER DID HE. Yet i still got aced in one shot, even after getting THREE free shots off.

I hate to use this expression but:

"Duh!"

Well seeing that you state that he was using a pistol and he used knockdown he is a Master Pistoleer and you are nothing more then a novice rifleman. That you fail to understand that 1vs1 is NEVER a indication of how good a profession is, is amazing.

Another thing seeing that you cry more about knockdown then any person here, why dont you spec for knockdown defense? Oh is it because it is easier to whine about it then to try to do something about it?

I guess what they are trying to say, "If you are going 1vs1 and get the first shot, you should ALWAYS die because your not in a group"...right.

Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someones neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing.
