#1 by TekDragon - "Precision eye-shot, Precision heart-shot, Precision knee-shot

These 3 skills NEED to be added to our tree, either down a branch, or at master rifleman. These 3 attacks would not only make our rifleman group friendly (without some BS flame-thrower attack) but actually make SENSE for a rifleman to have. In addition to being high-damage precision HAM pool shots, each should also offer an effect. Dizzy (or maybe blind) for eye-shot, stun for heart shot, and posture change (down) for knee shot. "

*********

I really like this idea. Makes alot of sense and helps the support role. IE you have lots of pistol people in group, you can now target the prober HAM. Nice.

My thoughts:

Screw the T21 its been regulated to weapon limbo where it will stay until all other bugs are fixed, and all possible nifty animations have been added. I expect us to be able to get jetpacks before they will fix that so go on to some more useful areas.

Fully agree with cover dropping us off of radar. Ive actually posted about this a few times but no one ever reads them so oh well. Not only would that, IMHO, improve the overall quality of PvP by allowing some actual stratigy to come into play, but just plain makes sense. Also... it makes it so strafe shot has some kind of value. Oh, and it would make the conceal line actually useful. Think ambushes and scouting enemy position.

Block. The entire concept is somewhat odd to me as I have no idea what we are supposed to block attacks with.. but if we have the skill I would like to see me block. At least once.

I would say conseal shot but at least now it works on somethings.. if I ask for it to make sense and be a completely unregonizable shot something awful will happen to it.

And I FULLY agree on the idea for percision shots. I mean, we are supposed to be snipers right? Doesnt make much sense that we are perfect on hitting between the eyes, but legs are just beyond our abilities to aim for.

we did come up with a ghillie suit idea.. but the whole radar invis thing was too controversal for many ppl.. including a fair few riflemen. you can find the idea here though if your interested in what was suggested:

Ohhh and the snails pace after you get up after taking cover. Why is it like this and when does it go away ?

anybody mention that stupid stopping to shoot when running away ..or at least trying to maintain an ideal distance to a target since they always try to crawl up your butt after the first shot is fired ....and i never pvp ..makes little or no sense to me with the current dynamics of the class.

Yes, I am a n00b to this forum, so please bear with me if this has been discussed before. Why doesn't rifle have a butt stroke special like the pistoleer pistol whip?

Having spent many years in the military, I know from experience that a butt stroke with a rifle will drop you as fast if not faster than a pistol whip.

Leave the melee damage bonus in, but give rifleman a knockdown so they can knock the guy on his butt and run to put some distance between him and his target.

I'm not sure how the XP works. I've put Mindbleeds on some major MOBs just beforebeing incapped, and gotten XP after they've bled to death up to 85m away from me. Remember that with Mindshots you ALSO have to hit another shot on them to get any XP.

Now this is an issue that is probably pretty significant for a lot of classes but i think that it is something that is of special consequence to us: the fact that if anNPC moves 1 meter outside of the 64 m range, experience is not received. I fidget to even imagine how many NPCs i've fought only to have them warp or have buggy ai that brings them just outside of my range, only to leave a big upset. Especially for harder NPC. With trying to keep just within range to increase my rifles effectivness i bring the chance of getting no reward on every NPC i fight, i cant help but think this is a design flaw. Especially considering you can be twice or more (not sure exactly) the shooting distance and still gain faction for the damage you inflict. Anyhow, this is an issue i think we should bring to the table.

The top issues.....

Give us eyeshot, and take it away from BH.

no one but rifleman should be able to attack mind pools.

lower Mind pool cost for specials. Right now in PVP I can attack maybe 2 people before i need to heal and watch all my pistolteer friends continue to fight without there HAMS draining....

Accuracy....Why can a pistol ahve +50 from 60 meters and I have -50 from anywhere closer then 20 meters?

there are many problems in rifleman, far more than any other combat profession.

something has to be done with our hits versus eyeshot. I was hunting last nite with a bounty hunter friend. He got off 6 eye shots worth aprroximately 500 dmg (give a or take about 50) each in 6 seconds. In that time I was able to get off one shot HS2 for 216 dmg. That was the lowest dmg I did all nite. My highest hit was 1300+ dmg. But that's the most I saw from my rifle (laser, 404 max dmg). The simple math will tell you the same thing we keep saying over and over and over again. 500x6= 3000 dmg for eyeshot. 216x1= 216 dmg for HS2 or use my max dmg I saw.... 1300x1 = 1300. So I have to hit two times at my max potential (average is 600-800) to come even close, but that's twelve seconds in which time he'll deliver about 6000 dmg. In reality I'd have to hit three or four times which takes half a minute. Keep in mind his target is also blinded with that attack.

Now imagine if we were PvP. I only have 850 mind at current and may take it as high as 1000 but that still won't help, since I am using my mindpool to attack and it's being drained by his attack.

I use mindpool to attack
I lose mindpool to certain attacks, eyeshot is a favorite of BH's
I can't heal mindpool
I take 2.5x dmg because I'm a rifleman
I do approximately 1/3 the damage as a BH in PvP
Mind cost for these slow attacks are at least double what the action cost is for eyeshot.

I think BH is great, and I don't want it nerfed, but it is obvious we are being penalized outrageously. Why can't a BH take 2.5x dmg for dealing 3000+ dmg in six seconds. Nevermind knockdown......

And I still read talks about nerfing our attacks. Why?

I can see at master and with a custom character build rifleman is quite feasible, but I feel we are at the edge of playability. It takes everything we got (best weapons available, master rifleman proffession for speed ups and special) just to keep up. I have yet to see a rifleman "own" anyone in actual gameplay.

But like I said, please don't nerf anybody, just take the nerfs out. It really is a bit rediculous.

I try to stay quiet in the forums, as I see great points brought up by ppl, only to have them lost in a sea of whiners from every class.

1.) Fix the T21 (and by fix I don't mean re-re-Nerf) Range Deal

2.) Allow Prone Rilfleman immunity to Knockdown Shots

3.) Say like 33% reduced HAM costs at Master Rifleman

4.) Eye Shots MUST pull Mind for usage. Make em equivalent to Head Shot III

5.) Why in world are the ranges of pistols the same as rifles. The only difference is that a pistol hits from any range, while Rifles are FUBAR up close

6.) I don't mind the melee penalty if the above were corrected, but it doesn't appear that any of our defense bonus' make any difference at all. FIX EM

If the above were fixed, I would then suggest that we have some form of functional Camoflauge, either as a skill or Rifleman only suit. Maybe a ghille suit that could only be worn by somone who's completed the sniping accuracy tree. And since there are only 3 real rifles for user DLT20, Laser, T21, I would like to see more choices, with yes,a very elite Better than T21 in all respects as a Master only Wpn. Devs may not understand that by better than T21 I don't mean bring the T21 down to DLT status, I mean an improvement

I find Headshot3 isn't very much different than Headshot2. I maybe do 100 Damage more, for something that costs 250 000 Rifle XP I would think it would do more damage with my T21.

I haven't been able to read all the responses in this thread, so I apologize if someone's brought this up before. As a ranger/rifleman who generally hunts alone, I use conceal shot a lot. My biggest issue is the way the conceal shot will pull surrounding mobs while the target remains clueless. This makes absolutely no sense to me. If the target itself can't figure out the location of the rifleman, why in the world would the other mobs be able to zero in on him immediately?
