Thread: Surprise shot
Conceal shot : x2 multiplier - random pool, works on isolated / non BAF mob.
Surprise shot : x 3 multiplier - random pool , even in cover, the creature will see you, try it , go in cover, shot some isolated mob 2 times , the third he will see you, just works like any other shot.
retested again yesterday, still doesn't work
I've said time countless times there but well
surprise shot is broken

I agree with the last poster.
I just tested surprise shot, and itIS still broken.
What the hell good is it to have riflemen/snipers take random HAM shots? Why cant we pinpoint a portion of HAM for any shot besides headshot and mindshot? Why must the proffession that should have the best accuarcy and most range be the most random and ill-desgined proffesion relative to its role? If im building sniper skills and using sniper type specials and tactics, why must I be limited to in-game constraints that makes more resembling a amatuer gunman?
I have no range advantage, I have no accuracy advantage, I have no special move designed to pin-point any body part but the head...but the body is always the easiest part to hit. Why cant there be a body equivalent to Headshot? Why is teh most basic and general ranged skill so limited?
Worse off about surprise shot is I AIMED at stormtroopers, then used surprise shot, and when I aimed, the stormtroopers warped on top of me. What good is aiming, if it's an automatic aggro?
The straight answer is that it is a shot that does 3.0x the damage.
It is supposed to only work while in cover from /TakeCover. So it is supposed to be a higher damage shot from a less vulnerable position. However, /Takecover does not work that well, and /Supriseshot apparetly works whether in cover or not, so it is not working the way it is supposed to.
Unlike /Concealshot which does not cause a target to aggro on you unless you miss twice or are detected by some other means, /Surpriseshot will not prevent an aggro. It goes by the same response rules as all other shots. That is, if you are prone an undetected, you will get off two to three shots before the target will aggro on you.
i got it to day and heard it was ok for pvp if u want a single target so i tested it out on some stupid reb. not to bad in dmg with my t21 but then aout 15 min later he sent me a /tell about how i cave him a bunch of constitution and strength wounds. i kinda luahged but then i said sorry not really meaning it. i wuld stick to flushing 2 then strafe shot when u get it.

not that i wouldn't like this skill... but good luck with that! ![]()
arguably, one of the factors holding off a nerf is that our shots don't do anything special except "stun" and outright damage...
giving us a rifleman Panic Shot would freak people out sumthin fierce, i think.
what seflyn and a few others have recommended for surpise (or startle2) is a very high powered single target shot, perhaps with the stun effect built into it as well (better than nothing..). flushing2/strafe2 dmg, single target, random ham, stun effect. could be cool/do-able.
just another idea -
