Y'know how friggen rare those geo pistols are? Let alone 500 damage geo pistols? They're rarer than krayted T21s, by far. You can make a nice krayted Jawa that's probably a fair bit better than that geo pistol, with about 1/3 the money. - MrFunSocks

Did they change the Jawa? You weren't able to put ANYTHING in jawas before, including krayt tissues.

jawa rifle needs a nerf ?? LOL. Sorry, but anyone who thinks adjusting one of the weakest stun weapons is a fix is off base.

ignoring range :

rifleman will be dominated by fencer with stun batton. (Rifleman 1 shot every 2 seconds, Fencer 1 special attack a second (dizzy, kd))

rifleman will be dominated by pistoleer with tangle or geno blaster. (Rifleman with 1 basic shot every 2 seconds, pistoleer will dizzy/kd every second.)

Would you care to test out a 400 year old sword to see if it's decayed to condition 0? All the prior testers have no comment. Perhaps a gun which was used in WW I and still fires with high accuracy upto 1km?

If that doesn't get you, then start reading current military specifications for combat equipment.

Well stun is the most powerful damage type thanks to it being the bane of armor across the boards. How about getting the armorsmith in on this discussion of how stun can be brought down a notch on the "OMG NERF!!!!" list. And if that doesn't work you can stun them all and let Delta skin 'em (I'm on bloodfin and he's kinda talking about the rifleman debate in there in a sense. At least he mentioned that he is a MRM, that understands our profession, and is on your side) If composite was the same as it is but is vuln to stun all the time, and lets say padded was given comp lvl stun resistance and high lvl other resists but vuln to (acid ?) there you go. Stun can be easily brought down to nominal and we can see people that look different running around in a battle!

This is probably the best idea I've heard in a lonnnnggg lonnnngggg time. I believe that this is clearly the solution to our problems. Not only does it help to dispell a lot of the monotamy for armorsmiths and visuals of combat, but it solves the problem without causing a change as drastic as changing the Jawa Ion Rifle.... I must say, fantastic idea.

I think the biggest thing needed in combat profs is balance. My guild leader is a rifleman and I'd HATE to see him nerfed. But many of the rest of us are pistoleers and are totally ineffective in combat. Each profession should have strengths and weaknesses making a good team mix desirable. Right now, this is not the case. Unless the balance is that Riflemen are good in PvP and Pistoleers are good in PvE. That's not much of a balance, I think.

I don't wanna see nerfs. I wanna see fixes to the borked professions.

I used to know these formulae in my head. If I think hard I could cough them up, but you don't want to make me think hard... trust me, it's scary

I do know this: with AP 1 vs the composite AR 1 you are getting even damage with resist (not counting the resist itself). You would also get a reduction ifthe Jawawent to AP0 but not as much as you would think. Higher the resist the less effect this has, and there is a point where reducing AP at the high resist has a funky effect on the equations, these guys would get slightly more damage on lower AP for the Jawa (but they are not getting hurt at this point anyway). You would see NO CHANGE for those without stun resist, however.

No, ths answer is not here, I think they have to re-think how the armour works. Some of these formulae are funky too... or maybe my memory is...

If they dropped the Jawa Ion to AP0. Then you are looking at 50% reduction in damage vs light armor. So in PvP it would only do half the damage it presently does.

The formula is 50% reduction per level the AP is below the AR. So AP0 vs AR2 (or AP1 vs AR3)is 25% damage (two level difference) and AP0 vs AR3 is 12.5% damage.

As others have stated. The issue isn't stun damage. It's how high the armor has gotten and how buffs make it possible to use said armor with no negatives.

Prior to high level armor and the buffs that let them use it, there were no calls for a nerf on stun damage. Yet the Jawa Ion has not changed. Other factors have.

90% resists means the player takes 5% of the damage as someone without any armor. While 75% resists is 12.5% damage as somone without armor.I did the calculations a number of times for the Wookiee armor debates. I don't think I'll ever get those numbers out of my head.

As for PSG's. They are mostly worthless. They do not always kick in, their stats change as you equip and cross server boundries. And they wear out extremely quickly. One or two fights and they are done.
