Thread: All Non-Zabrak Riflemen...
I just dont understand this post. It's all common sense. Isn't the whole purpose of having different races, that each one of them will have certain bonuses/penalties? Anyone can be a good rifleman just work with what you got. I have a zebrak rifleman that's good and i have a wookie rifleman on a different server that's good. Each one of them has his own thing that makes him better or worse for certain situations/actions.
Just have fun with him, and stop complaining.
I never understood Darksaber. Ok so Durga got the plans to make the deathstar...but wants to build it at cost and without any defense what-so-ever. An ace pilot gets killed flying through the Hoth asteroid belt (I don't care what the odds are nobody dies that's a main char. The 2 surviving members (one of them a main ass character in star wars) get caught because they didn't check a simple and logical security system...this from spies no less. Gah
I own all the books I read, and thanks to college sucking up everything money wise and then some I"m going to have to try and see if the school's library will get the ones that I need...or if it has any non fiction at all. I just don't know if I can stomach chewie getting killed. I know that a main character should be horribly wounded and maybe even to a state where bacta wont do **edit** but killing off chewie?!!! Come on.
Which book killed Chewie, I didn't read it but I had read somewhere that it happened.
And in Darksaber they Killed General Jan Dodonna (or was it Crix Madine?). I realized with that book why main characters don't usually get killed, unless it's a short epic series. I dislike Kevin J. Anderson with a passion....he's just not a very good writer compared with some of the other writers that have contributed to the EU of Star Wars like Kathy Tyers.
BUT I SEE HIS NAME OF FREAKIN' EVERYTHING!
It's like he's some sort of hack writer who might plan out the events to happen, but writes as quickly as he (and maybe a few assistants) can to make more money that year. 'Cause Star Wars isn't the only thing he writes.
Oh well. What was the original thread about?

Kevin J. Anderson has the most important talent a "hired gun" type writer (which is what 99% of the writers are who write for "shared universe" series like Star Wars, D&D, Buffy, etc):
He meets his deadlines. Consistently. He's one of the best in the business for getting his stuff to the publishers on time.
That's why he gets hired. Not because he's a better writer than anybody else, but because he can pinch off a new book and have it ready whenever the publishers need one.
And I believe it was Vector Prime that killed Chewie.
Oh, and I'm a human Rifleman and don't feel gimped at all. Well, aside from the fact that I'm a Rifleman. The fact that I'm not a Zabrak doesn't bother me in the least.
