With DVader539 about to leave the game, I decided to run out to the local Trophy store and get a plaque for the Hall:
*** The Rifleman's Hall ***
Dedicated in honor of DVader539 who, incommitment to the Rifleman profession anddevotion to the community, created the concept for this great hall.
May all your troubles stay at 60m.

Just in case you guys are wondering why I'm still around even though I said I'd be gone my account runs out on Friday, so I'm living it up on the forums until then.
For those of you who like the forums more than the game, or spend more time on the forums than the game, hehe, I'd recommend checking out the GAT, good fun there.

I know, I struggled over the weekend, didn't get any posts. I'll work on it. My only concern is I've been posting on the "post whore" thread in the General Any Topic, but I'm afraid someday they might delete that thread and I'd lose probably 100 posts. I'll do my best. Work should be pretty slow this week so I think i've got a shot. I'll be sure my 1337 post is in the Rifleman Hall though.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you all.
I write these words with a heavy heart. I just got off, my character stripped to his boxers, not a credit to his name, sitting on the hard ground, looking the saddest I could ever imagine, right before the countdown reaching zero.
And now, I type my final post on this board as DVader539. Tomorrow, I shall be simply known as Guest.
I leave with no bitterness. I enjoyed my time here.
I leave without anger. I enjoyed meeting my friends.
I leave without despair. For I may return to find new joy.
Frankly, the reasons I'm leaving are numerous. The major factor being the last year of college (especially the last semester) being very demanding. I basically stopped playing for a long time. And after graduating, despite finding myself with time, I had grown distant with my character. I enjoy the Role-Playing aspect of any MMORPG, so this was a major blow to my enjoyment of the game.
Another reason was I am tired of arguing on these boards with people, especially the Devs, about what course of action I thought right. As I said, I leave without bitterness, but I will offer the Devs one last piece of advice. I have been told that people have one mouth and two ears, and thus should listen at least twice as much as they speak. This advice has served me well. And so I advise the Devs to listen to one line of player input for every five lines they code in this game. That is the ratio of ears to fingers on the majority of people.
And to the players, I tell them this. This game, as any other MMORPG, is what you put into it.
To my dear fellow Riflemen and Riflewomen... I'm not sure I have the words to convey what I wish to say. Be proud of this profession. It has had a long history, rich with adventure and adversity. Where we stand today is miles from where we started, but many more miles from our final destination. March forward with dignity and honor. I'm so very proud of us all.
I have been with SWG years before it hit Beta, prowling the boards, offering advise and chastising the foolish. I served in Beta III. I was one of the first with the game. From this, I know this game has tremendous potential. I've played a lot of MMORPGs and RPGs, and although SWG has already broken a lot of molds, it can be so much more. The interaction between the Devs and the players is critical to it's growth. The unspoken ideas are outright failures. Apathy in the face of bad decisions is not a white flag of surrender, but an unguarded stronghold. Everyone has a duty to make this game everything it can be. Choose an ideal and run with it, lest no one champion it at all. This is what makes a good game great. SWG has tremendous potential to be, in my opinion, the best MMORPG to date. But only if people help it to be so.
As I've recently learned, my character has 6 months before permanent deletion. I may return before then, and restart him. I'll have no money, and no clothes, and no equipment. Re-characterizing my character will be my new quest. One things for sure, though. He'll always be a Rifleman.
I'll be sure to check back here, in the forums. So, since I've made this short goodbye letter too long, I'll conclude it.
Farewell, and may the Force be with you, and your rifle.

D, you will be missed to be sure. But life is full of meetings, partings, and reunions so who knows, might see you again somewhere.
