Dragon I am guessing you have played other MMRPG's so I will use those to help me explain my point.

I think you would agree that leveling in is important. If it was not we would all take our time and a Novice Marksman would be just as effective as a Master Rifleman. With that said I am going out on a limb and guessing that your problem is the weapon professions are not equal on the way up to Master, and I agree 100%. What I argue is that is just fine and I will explain.

First there is no way that any game will ever be balanced at every stage of progression. Right now you might not do well against a pistoleer, but in a few levels the tables will be turned possibly. SOE has tried to even things out at the Master level, and we have to accept that, we might not like it but that is just the way it is. There has to be a "level" in any MMRPG that the developers look at for balancing, in this case it is at Master.

The point of most of my posts on this board from the first one is you cant really make a determination of the worth of a profession tell you max it out. I have tried, maybe not in the nicest of ways, to point that out.

Lobo,

I'm curious as to the exact range you were from your opponent. You seem to be disregarding the fact that when rifleman move a few steps from their ideal range they loose a ton of accuracy modifiers. So unless every opponent you face decides to just sit there, I don't see how the damage can remain at the levels you claim. I am however going to try it and see. I've not surrendered all my rifleman points yet. The fact is we are gimped against moving opponents because we can't move and remain accurate at all. In fact, try your experiement again on an opponent that is charging you with a blaster. Your first shot may hit, but I bet after that you're up and running.

Tell you the truth I cant remember the last time I was actually in the prone position when firing. What you saw there was me at best standing up and still, but most of the time I shoot on the run.
