Same here. I think it would make for some more interesting characters and allow people to tweak to fit their character. Also give a reason for some of the high limits on stats for certain species.

Of course they would also have to fix the Human stat bug that has been going on for about 9 months or so now.

Unfortunately I don't think they see this as a bug anymore...

check what thunderheart posted on July 30th for the friday feature about human stats....

personally i am totally happy with rifleman as a proffession, im still into the whole "lower buffs/armor so proffessions have a distinction" though... it would also stop the nerf criers about the jawa rifle (make the jawa rifle ap0 if buffs/armor cannot be lowered)

Yeah, but didn't he respond to someone in that thread pointing this out as an issue that'll be fixed when they start working on the combat revamp? Well let's put it this way, if they don't consider it a bug they will after all the other species continue to complain about it while they work on the CB so it'll be bound to get some attention thrown at it.

Nearly a master rifleman here and some BH skills as well. My biggest concern is that ranged weapons do nearly no damage on Jedi... I know this is a general ranged issue, but since I'm a rifleman I wanted to post here. I understand that in the movies the Jedi were very skilled at blocking blaster bolts, but I would have to say that they would be equally skilled in blocking vibro swords. What happens when Jedi blocks blaster bolts? He sends those bolts ricocheting in a different direction. What happens when He blocks a vibro sword? Said vibro sword is sliced in half... I rest my case.

Killing a jedi should be equally difficult for all proffesssions. THat is what I wanna see balanced.

/pointfinger, the main thing I don't want to see the class I have loved to become is useless. I have been master rifleman for quite a while and I get the sense that people view rifleman as a godly profession but I don't get that sense. Only thing I would love to see is our berzerker rifle fixed, and if we have headshot taken away have it replaced with something unique to the class. I feel rifleman (since becoming master) is a little bit missleading. In the open I am a powerful PvE component but when it comes to hi end style bunkers such as death watch and the corvette I feel some what useless because of the high end resistances and armor of the enemies in those bunkers/dungeons and how limited I am to using abilities cause some of my high end dmging abilities are mainly AoEs. I would love to see a single hit high end dmg ability but to compensate it takes alot out of the ability pool ( or whatever the new item will be) and it can have a timer that is not effected too much by the speed that a person has. Also please don't turn us into stationary firing turrets (aka snipers) if that is done there may be people that quite rifleman and we will be few and far between. I guess its my oppinion but I view rifleman almost like commandos where we bring the firepower to a match in both PvE and PvP.

The key that I hope can be brought across to the devs is that each and every profession needs to have one, just one, move or ability that makes them special. Something fun and interesting, something that sets them apart.

In EQ during a boss fight, each and every person had a specific job that needed to be done in order to win. Right now, all combat professions are focused on one thing: doing damage. It might sound a little weird, but that's not how it should be. There should be people and professions focused on making targets weaker ("debuffing" through states), or making attacking easier, or making defending easier (and this is all in reference to PvP).

First off, if I restate anything that anyone has already said, please forgive me!

If the devs want to make us like snipers, make us like snipers!
-Yes, a sniper is excellent with a rifle. No, if the enemy gets within hitting range he isnt boned!
-When was the last time you heard about a sniper getting to close to the enemy so he wasn't able to defend himself with hand to hand combat, or using his rifle as a blunt weapon?
-Since when do snipers attack several targets at once? I always thought that was left to the assulters (Carbineers). Personally, I would be happy to let go of some of the AoE attacks if we could get more powerful head shots instead...

I love hearing stories of snipers who can kill a group of troops and never be seen.

Everyone wants us to be snipers

Who doesn't like the mystique of sniping? I mean that is my favorite game in FPS's, sniper countersniper. As soon as my grunt gets sniped it is an attack on my honor and I must have restitution I've probably bumped guys to the top thanks to allmy deathswhile I try and pinpoint their locale and finally take them out. Nothing beats a good sniper war.

That beign said, however, I don't want to be a sniper in teh game since it means death in an instant. We can't be a sniper and work so why be a sniper? The devs need to realize this. Afterall we shouldn't have tyranny of the majority. If most of the population doesn't want me to tie my shoe it doesn't mean I shouldn't tie my shoe, same thing in regards to changes to professions or roles they should fill.
