Why not just put up a whole other tier of proffesions? As in, starting proffesions, then advanced, then expert. Also, make the expert proffesions cost more skill points just so that people will specialize in one proffesion, not just spread out over many. How many people do you find in real life who are at the top of up to 3 different proffesions?

I do like this idea.

It will or would atleast if implemented from the start differ the long time players some from the new ones.
This game caps out faar to fast I started playing trail 3w ago and was tkm after a week.
But I sure wont drop it and I would love to remove the rest of my points in swords and pike and fencer to use them in grandmaster instead easy.

As many has allready said, Im not that sure we need more power or dmg, its pretty nice the way it is. But some more for meditation,
increase powerboost time not the effect but the length, maby give us some other abilities from meditation.
Defences is kind of needed if you need to drop the other professions, not a piiipload but some as a bonus for putting
almost all of the points in to your fav prof.

All combat professions should have this maby even all professions should, but there is always the possibility of overpowerness when tampering.

I have to agree with Atama....great idea in concept but how long would it be before boredom and even more uber abilities would have us crying for more for whatever reason? Where would it end?


Why are we really interested in grinding to a new uber....uber tile? Is it just so we can one up the powergamer that grinded in a few days what took us months.....?


For me it would be.....some of you maybe not..... I have to agree that we would be better served with more content to the game.....maybe more complex missions....more planets....new professions etc... And as far as being better than a tkmaster that took 4 days to get what took me two months...I have a lot of hope that the combat rebalance "when it comes" will adress that.

First, ranger has tenting and tracking

And neither the accuracy nor the speed FS box benefits TK..

And that really.. hm.. yeah you know..

So we need something else.. Like more damage !

Ok, here's an Idea, and let me state that I figure this would be a nightmare to impliment, and would turn Teras Kasi into an internal game unto itself after reaching master....


First, create four seperate columns of skills.


One could be stealth, each block would allow you a certain chance to remain invisible from everyone upto the top rank where you would get no greater chance of being invisible, but would be considered a Shadow Master, and have the capability of doing silent kills. Essentially you could kill something and have a MOB or NPC standing right beside what you killed and they would not know you had done it.


Another could be weapons. Each block would give you a seperate weapon skill figure at novice ability. First one Staff, Second, Axe, Third Sword. The Fourth would give you access to a skill that is often refered to as Gun-Fu. Essentially you would use pistols in a martial arts capacity.


Pick two others of your liking.


Now, here's the sweet thing. First, each level should require a quest in addition to the credits and XP,


Second, only allow one master of each column on each board. To become the Shadow or Weapon , or what ever master, you would have to chalange and win against the current master. The Reigning Master would have 14 days to respond, or he would forefit his rank and have to regain the title after regaining the XP.


Now, what if yu want to master all four? Then you must tackle each column seperately, gaining mastery in each one seperately. Then comes the tough part. Grand Mastery.


Allow one Grand Master per server. In order to take his place you would have to defeat him in single combat.


I'd love to see this, but as I said, it would be come a game of it's own.

Not too keen on using weapons and pistols as a TK i mean what's what swordsman and pistoleers are for imo. Give me a nun-chuck (or is it nun-chuku blah you know what i mean) and i'll whap em with it :-D give me a vk and i'll cut em in two but a pistol or axe is really a whole different profession. The ideas about having to PVP the current masters is good but how can a TK-HM beat a TK-GM? The Grand Master has all the HMs skills and more. Dosen't seem like a challange but more like Suicide :-/. Anyhow at least we're on topic ^_^

Definitely a great idea, and yeah the point being that EVERY profession would get a high master,grand master, etc. boxes above just a 'master'. It wouldn't do anything to just make extra boxes above Teras Kasi Master, but would be a great addition to the game if added above every elite profession currently available. Come on SOE, this might be the only way to solve the fact that 75% of the player base will eventually become Jedi because there's nowhere else to go with a normal character. I wouldn't care how much xp it took, as long as it existed.

Why is this a post? COmbat revamp is coming with JTL or so they say. TKM is uber and I personally have no problems with killing anything..except elders. Class works..attack work..be happy. Rnagers have no working skills..TKMs have it good



Leveled Bounty Hunter Pistol and Pistoleer Speed Branch to be uber. Found weapon speed is borked and tried to make it all better by telling myself my skills are uber. Skills then nerfed in patch and I was left with loving my uber pets. Uber pets were nerfed and I went to take pride in my harvesters. Harvesters were nerfed so I went to take pride in my faction missions. Faction missions were borked or gave pathetic loot. Ask my why I am posting on the boards?
