You mean the first 4 months of our existence, nay longer?

Hello close to master Bounty Hunter here (except for the damned investigation tree) EVERY elite Combat class in the game can beat us no sweat in pvp so whatever u did to get your ass handed to you was your own fault. Yes we have alot of offensive power but we pay for it in skill points and the fact that we have very little defence other than ranged mitigation. PvE we are ok, a nice buff and some mind food (we get screwed in the mind via carb and LLC specials very highly Ill have you know) and making money is easy. But we get hit 100% of the time are extremely vunerable to every status effect and our HAM costs are just as high as yours. I think the odds are in your favor no? I still love it though I jus dont PvP at all.
Never been any combat profession but rifle, so I'm not going to point my finger and call you a liar here, but... I know my T21 has 106 for its mind cost with health and action in the 60's. With a focus of 950m if I'm not buffed head shot 3 has a total HAM cost of 203, is yours that high (asking, not being sarcastic here)
With the money you make from selling power and/or doing missions, buy some good composite armor (buy 2 suits if you can afford it), and get it sliced.
With just brandy I can do PVE missions just fine (also a master ch so I have something else to tank for me). If I'm going to PVP, prep is required. I must get doc buffs, must have brandy, and even better if I can get both entertainer buffs - I have to do these things in order to wear my full suit of composite and expect to last though any type of attack.
I'm fairly new to PVP and I can say that what I have a tough time against are the CMs - once I'm poisoned and or diseased, it's just a matter of time before I incap or die.
PVP doesn't suck - it's a sport. You can't expect to perform well in any sport if you don't prepare and you don't have the proper equipment. And just because YOU can't PVP well, doesn't mean the rest of us can't do well or at least have fun.
OK, for those of you who are newish, HARPOON posted the same crap 3 months ago. We laughed and SilverLobo beat the crap out of his newb ass.
Solutions:
Damage mitigation: good bye, 60% of max damage.
A helm (60%): 450-50% (light armor vs ap0 scatter) = 225 - 60% = 100 damage.
You got beaten by someone with superior equipment. A guy did the same thing to me, and turns out his scatter was in the 500 max damage range. I learned me lesson but good.
A lot of riflemen are only wearing composite helms. My stun resists, 28% helm has a mind encumbrance of 200 and change. Get a chest plate and leggings, then fill the rest in with bone. I can wear it all with 400/400 400/400 750/750 secondaries and not kill myself firing.
Until you are master, or realise that template beat single professions, as they should, EVERY TIME, do not complain. Thanks for comin out d00der.

but then you are litearly shelling out thousands and thousands of credits just so you can pvp for a few minutes and kill one or two people.. for what?
90% of the reason people think riflemen are ubber is because 90% of the people do stupid things in PvP. They get so involved in the confusion of battle that they do not do smart things. A properly buffed and armored rifleman can sit on the fringes of the battle picking and choosing his targets, calmly evaluating their weaknesses, and cause a ton of devistation. Two or three people? Hardly. You would be amazed at how many people will get killed, clone, and run straight back into battle without buffing ortaking care of their wounds (the latter meaning they are not even at their peak unbuffed). In one big battle, I killed one guy at least 5 times because he was running around for almost an hour with a mind bar that was 3/4 black before I killed him the first time, and he never bothered going to get it taken care of. Another guy was runnining around in his underwear. This made it obvious to everyone that he was unarmored. Also, if you find the right spot far enough away from where people are re-entering the battle, it is amazing how long you can stand there untouched, because nobody thinks to try and out flank you. Even if they do drive you off, you can often come back to the same spot and start picking them off again. People get so locked into the idea that their armor or their big gun makes them invincible (and we are just as guilty of this) that they stop thinking. Tunnel vision is a wonderful thing for a rifleman, at least, that is, if your enemy has it.
So, remember, right now you are fighting one of the biggest weaknesses of Rifle, the base delay of the weapon itself. You do not have the speed mods to be able to deal with some situations, so PvP is not going to be as productive as it will be at Master. And if getting killed bothers you that much, PvP is not going to be very enjoyable, because even at Master, and even with the most ubber template, you will get owned at least some of the time. However, even now, if you get in a well-coordinated group, keep on the fringes of battle, and be prepared to skoot if you attract someone's attention, even now you can participate and, if you are buffed, armored, and smart, you can come out with a favorable kill ratio, but you have to know when to pick and choose your battles.

That's rich, you guys pitched a fit when the x2.5 thing came to you. We screemed to get it changed and you said we should try "tactics". Changed fast when you died to bunnies too. Believe me you have NO IDEA of pain and anguish. btw we DO NOT need to be nerfed, the stacking does. I know. I can ONLY master rifleman and keep ranger. I STILL have to use tactics and have NO prayer in PvP. "Buffing" is a huge overhead, unless you want to rip people off all the time, and therfore PSG's are my only armour.
Again, stealing the infamous words of Jame Carville... IT'S THE STACKING STUPID. The rifleman bit is only PART of the story.
