For pikets since you don't need the xp just blast the lair. I recomend going in and trying to find the best angle where you can hit them all when they rush you. Also start firing out at 60m, gives you time to drop them before they get close and will let you kill any pikets just beyond the lair that are trying to heal the lair. As for powerups I used them at first but got tired of replacing them every 3 minutes 10 seconds so I stopped. My guns have thanked me. Get good weapon repair kits. My mission grind T21 is down to a max condition of 390 but that thing has easily made me over 10mil and probably has 2 or 3 more repairs left in it. As the game currently stands cloths at 0 condition still give you the effects so you're fine till they fix it, I recomend getting a new shirt to put your new taper in. Or ubese shirt if you get an armor attachment.

As far as what to start out on its up to you. If you can get Mokk missions then you can start on them, however you need speed tapes before you can run in there rambo style and blast them to nothing, before that you need to use concealed shot and take out the Mokks one by one then take out the lair with strafe2.

As for the cost... yeah its expensive but worth it in the long run. You're looking at doubling your DPS with a +5 tape, even more with a +7.

Being a novice (0-1-0-0) I'd like to give a little perspective:

- First of all, like many games, PAY YOUR FREAKIN' DUES!!! Riflemen aren't to good till master, its a commen fact, but at master we can (probably, not sure) make money as fast or faster then all the other professions.

- Riflemen is a weird profession, its different then all others in the fact that you NEED buffs atleast on some of your stats, and when your poor and weak (aka not master) it won't be the greatest thing in the world. Again, PAY YOUR FREAKIN' DUES!!!

- Personally this is my plan:

Master Riflemen (Human) all stats swung over to mind

Master doctor (for buffs)

Two Brandy (10k for 8 on Bria)

This combo, from what I've seen, heard, and read up on, will let you pvp almost on the drop of a hat. You see an encounter? Buff yourself, pop two brandy and for 40 minutes blast to your heart's content. Hell, you can eat something also if you feellike it to boost the mind even more....

So to every non-master riflemen...stick in there....keep at it....and use moun

The SWG cycle:
1 - "This game is AWSOME"
2 - "Oh MAN! That battle was AMAZING!"
3 - "I'm really getting sick of this grinding, but I'm almost there!"
4 - "I swear if that bug happens again, I'm quiting!"
5 - "Oh screw this! I'm quiting"
6 - Repeat from step 1

And dropping scout isn't that bad, while it is a good way to make money, doing missions and buffing people at the starports with master doctor will make you as much, if not more. Also in the next big patch, you can pull out your speeders without camps, so having scout for that purpose is useless.

However losing terrain negotiation does suck, but I'm not sure if you know this but, sometimes you need to sacrifice. You can't create the perfect player, everyone has weaknesses.

i dont know what kind of pvp you do, but dying is really easy. If you're in a group attacking an enemy city fighting another group, you kill them, they clone and have group TEFs on you, often times a brawler will walk right up to you and attack you and DB before your group can stop them (or while they are fighting something else). PvP = clone wars, its hard to keep your buffs when someone can walk up to you and do you over with a flamethrower becasue they have a TEF on you.

PvP's a joke anyway. All it is is a money sink for buffs, armor, weapons.

If you're going to PvP, EXPECT to pay out the arse, and don't complain.

PvE=money in the bank. PvP=money outta the bank. I'll stick with making cash, thanks.

2xBrandy + Fried Ice Cream=I can shoot anything that I feel needs to be dead. Buffs are just insurance. Armor is just to buy time until you can switch your attention from whatever you just killed to whatever's trying to bite you.

BTW, if you're just going to do hunting, Ubese is the armor of choice. Lower HAM costs, cheaper, and better protection vs kinetic. Unless, of course, you really want to shell out 500k or more for higher end Composite. Why, though, is beyond me. I can get 2 full suits of 74-76% Ubese for the cost of an 80% composite helmet and chestplate, and I won't have to buff just to wear a suitof Ubese.

what if you are fighting nightsisters or force sensitive NPCs for high level loot? They shoot at you.

Then you should wear energy resistant armor. (aka composite) Umm duh? Why is it that everyone wants 1 thing that is the end all be all of the entire game. I mean honestly. Should there be 1 armor that makes you impregnable? 1 class that makes you invincible? If you want to win at every situation then plan for it. Prepare for the worst and you will win when it comes up. If it doesn't then good for you, it's better to have and never need then to need and never have. Or however that goes.

but when you die, which isn't hard with brawlers, BHs and commandos, you lose all your buffs..

and if you do that template.... would you even have enough skill points? You'd have master rifleman, then you'd have to master medic, i dont think you'd have enough for full master doc.... you'd certainly have to lose Scout (no terrain negotiation, no more harvesting and no more camps so if ur speeder auto stores you get to walk to the nearest city)

Also, for one shot dueling, if you think you may die alot, get some moun! 25 uses for 10k, good for quicker duels.
