uh.... i solo rancors all the time with my t-21 .... just need good buffs and a bit of range

as for them kicking our butts... they kill me occassionally - but only if i don't realize they are charging me... (if they get with in 20m i am so much toast...)

i actually think the devs reponse in this situation is fair. I would like kinetic but I have lived (and died while fighting nightsisters) without it. I am effective against 80% of nightsisters - that is a fair chunk and then ones i am not effective against i try to lay status attacks on even if they do no damage to help the others i am grouped with. believe me a well timed stun or dizzy can help lots

melee especially TKA can solo 3 or 4 recors at a time.can we?

And the new Lithitanium rifle seems to have gotten the stealth nerf in this morning's hot fix. Mine says energy for damage type now... which is a major rip off after going and fighting that tusken executioner (after waiting nearly 2 hours for it to show up) so I could get it.

OH THAT'S RICH. We point out the inconsistency in their arguments and instead of fixing the Tusken they go break the new rifle. Who the hell is going to camp Fort Tusken waiting for the 200k+ HAM spawn to finish the quest to get YET ANOTHER PIECE OF CRAP ENERGY RIFLE? Not me, that's for damn sure.

POKEY THE PENGUIN SIG REMOVED BY GARVA BECAUSE "Just because you are crafty enough to get around the technicality of it being a .jpg or .gif does not mean it is not an image, it is not ascii art, it is an image" SO HERE IS MY NEW SIG.

300k HAM executioner, with 200k+ HAM observers and a 150k HAM or so witch doctor in attendence. Had I known they were gonna nerf it to energy damage I wouldn't have bothered wasting the time, buffs, condition on my guns and a gear (from a death) getting it. Guess I'll hang it on the wall. Wonder when they're gonna get the Tusken King's rifle with this crap... saw one hanging on a wall tonight that still reads kinetic damage... shoulda gotten a screen of it I guess.

the whole damage thing makes no sense. weapons in star wars do 6 types of damage heat, energy, electric, ion, blast and kinetic. ion and blast are generally done by starships. all handheld energy weapons do energy style damage. jawa rifles and other non-lethal weapons generally do electrical damage. melee weapons generally do kinetic type damage. in SWG we have blasters that shoot acid and bullets that do energy damage.

the description of the scatter pistol is completely wacked it says something to the effect that it shoots blaster bolts but somewhere downrange they mystically warp into streams of corrosive acid...

so i am not sure where the real problem lays whether its energy bolts morphing into acid streams or just the pollyana way the damage/vulnerability/armour system is designed.

Actually werent spray sticks used in Heir to the Empire? Werent they more like long poles?

Yep, it was what the Noghri used to try and capture Luke and Leia. So yes itis described as a long pole and should use a sticky net to capture it's target, and look nothing like the little thing we have in game. The only thing they got right was the fact that it is a short ranged weapon.

LEAVE THEM KINETIC!! Nightsisters are really really really really easy with a supernice spraystick....everyone thinks kinetic damage is sooo underrated.....

Just wanted to add a few comments for clarity in the event further clarity is needed.

I have a Tusken Rifle that does kinetic Damage.

How did I get it?

Do the Borvo missions from the Cantina in Moenia - at the end you are given a Tusken Kinectic Rifle that you are then supposed to give to Darklighter on Tatooine - you then do the Darklighter Missions to get the Polished Krayt Skull.

I thought the Tusken Rifle with Kinectic Damage was a better reward than a useless skull........

......Until I tried to tried to equip the rifle and got the following "You do not have a valid certificate to use this weapon" or similar - btw I am Master Rifleman.

The Rifle stats are poor anf frankly you could do better kinectic damage witha brawler novice bitchslap

More than happy to post a Screenshot - just never done it before so instruction required.

At the very least the screenshot should make the Dev eat his words.

He may be mistaken but, either way we must be pateint and see if we get something from the weapon balance.

New additions do include HEAT and more powerful ACID weapon.

Some profession have not even received a new weapon in ages.

wow i am surprised that rifleman are complaining about variety of damage? In my opinion rifleman are stronge enough with there speed, range, and variety. Giving a rifleman a kinetic weapon is liek giveing a TKM a stun weapon not a good idea.... professions need to be ballanced, if anything rifleman should be toned down a bit but thats just my opinion....

Seraph, this isn't about getting more damage types for out profession. It's about common frickin' sense and continuity.

And Klawlegna, he is mistaken; I think the kind people in this thread have provided more than enough evidence to support that. And despite getting new weapons, that doesn't fix the problem of the Devs ignoring SW lore and common sense. And it sure as hell doesn't make it alright that they lied to us, again.

You can let them know that in the correspondent forum.

Click here for proof that the Devs hate Riflemen. And here's the kicker! (Seperate thread)

This is crap

I couldn't care less about balance. I want continuity. GET THAT FIRST and then work out the resulting balancing. Make this true to STAR WARS and not "EQ in space". You have room in EQ to make up stuff but YOU DO NOT HAVE THAT OPTION HERE!

In ALL Star Wars RPG systems Tusken was kenetic and it did not upset the balance of those games!

btw, even though spraystick was acid originally in this game, it more closely is akin to the restraint damage for mapping from the paper RPG's to this game.
