Phrakture, you've got issues. Ever thought the possibilty of someone telling the truth instead of doing what you'd do and hype up reality to impress your friends? There's a thing called trust and I don't think you have any. I pity you.

All this appeal to realism is quite humorous. My avatar is a Mon Calamari rifleman. Last time I checked I have yet to see a fish walking on two and wielding a rifle.

True and very funny. I don't need a greater sense of realism, I just saw a post which makes sense to me based on knowledge gained in my profession being attacked as bravo siera using poor assumptions and faulty premisses, and I tried to clear things up. I think a tank could be impared by a barret by damaging the barrel. I know I can take a missle moving straight at me at mach 2 out with 20mm depleted uranium rounds. I will put first round on target, and that will be at a range of 2020 yards. My gun (CIWS)fires at a rate of 4500 rounds per minute and will tear holes in the airframe of a missle causing it to be torn apart by relative
wind.

Given that this is how my system operates, and knowing what I do about balistics and munitions, I find the claim of disabling/destroying Iraqi tanks (mostly T62 and T72) to be quite plausable.

i read the first 3 or 4 replys in this thread, and you are morons.

the US uses a "sniper rifle" accurate up to and including 1 mile range. i believe it fires at least a .50 cal round, though im sure its bigger. any of you ever see the movie "seals" you know the guy called "god"? that was the rifle that kills from over a mile away. that is the job of a sniper.

if a tank has a high explosive round in the chamber, why wouldnt it explode if it was shot? not that i agree with the so called sniper of desert storm, i just wanna hear you laymans explanations of why a highexplosive round wont explode when its shot, and why a sniper wouldnt be able to hit such a target froma distance.

now why in game does a sniper act like a person with a big pistol?

oh wait i know the answer to that..... cause thewanna-be-han soloswith pistols couldnt figure out how to deal with snipers easily so they whined and nerfed us.
