Thread: Changing to +20 melee to something else
I got that info from other correspondants, ive also been told by friends that it increases miss rate.
So it may not be 100 percent true.
Ah ok, here it is, there is melee defense(miss rate), and then there is unarmed defense (dmg reduction) My mistake, I was going off false reports.
Unless of course the info Im reading is wrong, its all up in the air until I see it from the dev. The strategy guide is wrong half the time, and so are people.
It doesnt work if this is true, I have not yet dodged a melee hit ever.
Well knowing this however, I dont think changing it to ranged defense would be a good idea, maybe increasing our block would. When they fix it. (block is for ranged attacks) Seems silly to give us ranged defense, and block.
Has anyone ever dodged a ranged or melee shot...I know I have never.
If this were changed, you'd have a lot of pissed off rifleman/melee hybrids.
If +20 melee did anything, I'd say keep it.
It's supposed to make you get missed more, which would be great. Creature suddenly turns on you or something and takes a swipe, you'd like to be missed rather than hit for 1200 damage because you're holding a rifle.
But I'm not convinced that +20 melee defense or +20 ranged defense or +50 ranged defense does a **edit** thing for you.
Perhaps our esteemed Rifleman Correspondent can ask SOE just what, exactly, melee defence does? While hes at it he can ask what the +100 to concealment we get does.
