Honestly. You just have to wonder sometimes at the conversations required for this sort of thing to happen.

Dev 1, over coffe "So I said, that's not my code your talking about."

Dev 2, with donut "HAAaaaa. I love it man. Say...we've got a little bit of work to do with that whole Combat update thing to cover."

D1 "*Sigh* I still dont understand why we're changing it. The entire game is bug free and perfect as it is, the players simply arn't using it the right way."

D2 "Oh I know. I mean, look at the simplistic beauty of leaving entire skill tree boxes devoid of any sort of skill, yet actuelly suggesting in it's flavor text that you WOULD learn something there! Brilliance!"

D1 "You're preaching, and I'm the choir. Trust me. So what's next? Cutting down the CL level that BE's can make even more? Installing a real-time digestive timer to chef foods? Perhaps something simple and elegant like altering something and not telling anyone about it, thus pretending it never was changed in the first place?"

D2 "*shakes head* No...today AR is up. Apperntly, they've discoverd the math behind the old system, and it needs to be changed. You know the saying."

*both together, smiling* "An informed populace is a happy populace, and we CAN"t have THAT."
*they clink glass to donut*

D1 "Allright. So we change it. Hm. I think it'd make the most sense if weapons with low to no AP rating actuelly had less trouble per shot dealing with high AR npcs. *nods* I like it. We manage to mitiagte the entire point of having a High Ar rating while at the same time making CDEF's more useful per hit than a Flame Thrower."

D2 *grinning* "i love it when you talk that way. I'll tell the coders they only need to work another 56 straight hours, and I'm sure we can just give them the concept and let them work the math forumla out on their own."

......Sigh.

I live in this world. I exist in my own.
