Think of it this way. Presently Rifles gets all the new rifles because we are the only ones that use them. If others get rifles to play with the means they will have Rifle skills, mods, and specials that we can stack with. It gives Rifles something they've never had before. Other professions that directly compliment Rifles and allow for us to stack with.

I actually like the rifles. Being a Mon Cal the "spear rifle" looks like a weapon the Mon Calamari would have anyway. Kinda reminds me of the whole old school bayonet style rifles with the blades at the end of the rifles. Only modified a bit of course.

The day you have to put a bayonet on a sniper rifle, is the day you messed up. Badly.

I see it as a more Mon Cal thing not a bayonet thing^_^ undersea spear gun was one of the things I had for making mon cals more distinct - kind of a bowcaster for mon cals. They just integrated a nice little spear launcher in an underbarrel configuration ^_^

well as all the weapons have not yet been revealed I think it is possible that this will show up as well. It may not but it may ^_^

Actually, the Czerka Adventurer is used as a "big game hunter." It's a slugthrower sniper rifle and a harpoon rifle all in one. Again, Aurra Sing made this a deadly weapon.

This rifle can be seen in Episode I in Aurra Sing's possession and in Episode IV leaning against the wall in the Lars' Homestead (i.e. Luke's Aunt and Uncle's house).

Can't say I like it. It looks like they took a spear gun and just stretched it out. The fact that it looks like there is a spear at the end of it doesn't help any.

It looks rather fragile. I was hoping for something a bit more robust.

lol

The Ink gun looks like it will cut you in two if you drop it on yourself.

I like my laser rifles just fine.

I'm willing to try them out though...that is, if they aren't going to cost us our Trigger fingers, arms, and legs. /sighs

being a Huge fan of Rifleman, even if not one anymore, and a TKM/Master WS atm, I have to say, IMO, that ALL the new weapons whet my curiousity, both to USE and to CRAFT them. TKM sorely needs at least ONE alternative damage type, IMO, and IF the Devs give that new "sniper" rifle explosive (BLAST) damage, as the name might indicate, then that would be the one more damage type for Rifleman to use.

BUT, the bottom line seems to be that The Devs just like to tease us all... They are all just PICS, and as such I feel, again IMO, that they should only be taken lightly, as pics, until we know more specific things about them.

no, i don't really like that much..................... UNLESS that profession is ranger... being that i will be a ranger/rifleman forever, i have bascically no skill points after novice medic. and, if post curb, the only way to be on the level MRifles is now, is to have to stack something, i won't be able to do it. and i really will be very hindered in my gameplay. Ranger is such a skill point hog, yet requires a combat profession, but ONLY ONE IS ALLOWED. and, since all combat is going to be nerfed(equally), solo hunting may be virtually impossible for me post curb.............. i would have to quit then because the only professions i like or want to play are rifleman and ranger(they are made for eachother).

so unless the new profession with Rifle mods/skills/certsis Ranger (which really is the only one that would make sense, except maybe BH) then i will be extremely dissapointed.

On another note, You are alluding to stacking.... I was under the impression that one of the major focuses of the CU was to removestacking of combat professions??

I thought the whole point was that if you only mastered one elite combat profession, you would still be effective in battle on your own(to a certain extent)????

I'm sure you have reason to say what you did above, because as a Corr it would be bad business to spread unfounded rumors. but i really hope they are not going to do this.

Purpose of the CURB:

  • CURB: stands for Combat Upgrade, Revamp, Balance

  • revamp: to rebuild the basics

  • upgrade: to add new features

  • balance: to make all professions have something they contribute

Stacking can be good if it is not just one sided - currently we have defensive stacking but offensive stacking could counter that. If it is done is a limited balanced way it can be better over all. It would give you reason to take multiple professions that are compatible with each other and would create a diverse skill set which leads to great tactics. That is not to say you still would not be effective if you only had one profession - just that you would be more options if you have more then one.

good point. too bad i'll miss out being a ranger, but, yeah, defense stacking is really the only viable stacking right now, so i guess offensive stacking would balance it out a little.

i guess i should follow my own advice in other threads: "we don't know enough, so no need to stress about it"
