Your 250 skill points are not worth more than my 250 skill points, nuff said.
(2) Make range matter. Pistols ineffective over XX meters, Rifles ineffective under XX meters, Carbine in a happy range in the middle. Details to be worked out on test server
Wouldn't work unless you gave the rifleman some method of holding a target at XX meters. A pistoleer can always be in range, 90% of things you fight in this game are melee and thus charge to pistol distance thus making rifles worthless, even now.
I'd bet there's not a Master Rifleman in the game right now that didn't get a fair portion of his XP by kiting Jaxes and similiar broken creatures. Now that there aren't all these slow running creatures in the game, leveling a rifleman is slow and painful.

I'm just pointing out that you're comparing apples to oranges. A BH who's maxxed is combat line vs. a rifleman who hasn't. It's not a fair comparison to look at and then call a BH overpowered. If you were a master rifleman and got the drop on a BH, you'd probably win, period.
According to recently released stats, Bounty Hunter is the least mastered profession in the game. This, to me, invalidates the BH argument of "but it takes so many skill points to master". Almost none of you are bothering to master it.
0040 BH has +80 speed and +105 accuracy! With 0001 Pistoleer that goes to +91 speed and +110 accuracy. +6 more speed for each of the 3 additional pistoleer boxes.
So at 0040 BH and 0002 Pistoleer you have a 97% speed reduction for all your shots.
That's broken.
So broken, it's funny. We aren't talking masters here, we aren't even talking very skilled.
The BH mastered the pistol line. If you want to argue that BH pistol bonuses and pistoleer pistol bonuses shoudn't stack, that's another topic.
You wanna compare power levels, do that. You know as well as I do that a Master BH = 0040 BH. A master has a few assorted carbine moves he can throw in, but that's about it. So don't sit here and say that you should be able to maul an 0040 BHand how broken it is. The only broken thing is that for some reason, Rifleman are rear-loaded when it comes to power and BH's are front-loaded. I won't disagree there, and there in the process of fixing that to some degree, namely in moving eyeshot to master.
Additionally, the reason BH is the least mastered profession is because it is the most time consuming to master.
All the PvP, and testing that I have leads me to believe that Eye shot has a very very high base accuracy. Add that to the pittifull defense system SOE has in game makes having a high defense worthless against a BH using eyeshot.
I fought a BH/CH a bunch of times last night, both of using TEF on each other. He got me maybe 1-2 more times then me, and I know I got him 10 times. Problem is I had no choice but to use the T21, crapy accuracy, high HAM use, and pray I landed my shots. I finally had to use bleeds, he would kill me but the bleed would take him out before he got to me, so I would win by default, not really the way to win IMO.
I'm a BH (started rifleman actually then dropped because my solo tactics sucked with it), with some minor pistoleer skills, had to do something with all the combat xp I was getting right? However now that I'm 1/4/4/4 I am giving back Pistoleer skills and won't have any in the next week, I'm not doing without my stim D's.
Pecos: BH being the least mastered profession is more than just people grabbing the pistol or carbine line of it and stacking with that profession. While that is there, it's also acombination of the time it takes to do broken investigation missions that currentlyyield no benefit to the player outside of runningBH missions.
And the skill point argument is valid (to a degree).

I'm the last person that is going to say BH's should be uber and better than everyone else, and I reallycan't see a Novice BH owning a Master Rifleman (not to assume thats the situation put forth in this thread).I'm sorry, but oneencounter that works out badly for you doesn't make me want to screw myself over. Had you made contact with your mind bleed and run, I would have probably seen the BH in question whining on our forum. There are a number of combat class combinations put forth in this thread to give a rifleman up close and personal combat abilities to go with the ranged defense bonuses, with the 54 skill point difference. Shoot it gets even worse when you talk about Master BH (which I am going for btw).

But to say that BH pistol shouldn't stack with Pistoleer pistol is ridiculous. By that BH carbine shouldn't stack with normal carbine mods. They are both pistols based off the the Marksman pistol line.
What do they say about not knocking an idea unless you have a better one...
(1) A player is allowed only 1 elite ranged combat class is one idea, not sure how that would go over but it's fine with me
(2) Make range matter. Pistols ineffective over XX meters, Rifles ineffective under XX meters, Carbine in a happy range in the middle. Details to be worked out on test server
All of this is all PVP bickering, andignores some large PVE issues. Whats a pistoleer going to do when they have to get inside agro range to even shoot at a mob, is that really fair to them?
once nerf domino's start falling it gets messy. If everyone screamed for their class to be fixed as loudly as they do for someone elses to get nerfed you'd see a different fix pattern from the DEV's
Good Luck all

I got less than 100k of exp from slow moving mobs (and that's the top end, it wasmore like 50k), thevast majorityof my exp was done from BAF warpingGBN. I didn't even start playing the game till the 9th after release because I was away.
Just because some mastersleveled off slow moving Jaxes doesn't mean we all did and no I didn't have CH either.
