Rifleman: What is the Development team’s vision for Rifleman with the upcoming combat system overhaul?

The vision for the rifleman hasn’t changed. They are still intended to be the long range snipers and that will stay the same.

As long as rifles are limited to 64m this is not possible. Especially when all other weapons have the same range. In this situation there is no such thing as long range.

So they intend us to be something we can not be because of limitations they have but in to keep other factors as they intend. Anyone else find this amusing?

Be brave. They can call us anything they please, but our current mix of Rifleman/Sniper won't be destroyed after the CB. If we have to be called 'snipers' to satisfy those who don't realize where our strength truly lies, I haveno problem with that. And since I don't see any motivation for the Devs to add HS5 anytime soon, you can count on SS2 to be my ally now and after the balance.

And PsychoJuggalo- I do hope that those millions of Riflemen cry out and perish. That will leave about as many left as there were before we got so popular

I dunno. Docile would make them less obstinant about admitting their mistakes, but I doubt it'd make them code better.

Well we all agree something has to be done with their special organs.........

Yes. However I do not have the power of the nerf. So I'm not to worried about going to the nerf-side. I'm more worried about being a nerfee.

a combat medic fills the role of sniper with their never miss 64m+ toxin injections...

one thing i find silly as hell is a combat medic that kills. medics dont kill. a CM's focus should be on healing not combat. how can we be super assassin (idiotic title) when the medic has better chances to hit than we do. and better range and do not suffer from a PVP penalty.

anyway i hatet the idea of sniper it doesnt fit the mechanics of the game. but these are the same folks that brought us jihad droids and spam bots. i dunno maybe im old fashioned but anything that resembles a car bomber type thing is pretty damn insensitive to me. i do not normally get offended by things but the idea of jihad droids just irks me. its just that the devs seem to live in a different SWG than everyone else. they spend TONS of time working on things the community does not want and are shocked when we protest obviously bad ideas. but it all comes from them doing the work first instead of asking the community about it. they seem to think that asking for ideas but giving no feedback on what they picked from those ideas is a good way to do things. why even ask us if your going to do what you want anyway. if your going to ask for input your only going to make the animosity worse if you dont give feedback. its not a difficult concept.

It isn't that the Devs don't ask us. It's that they do and then ignore what we say. The DE's didn't want the exploding bots. They told them that long ago in one of their many discussions. So they went ahead and did it anyways.

The Devs and the players frequently live in different worlds. They have different visions of how things should work. The problem is that the players consitute the majority of the population yet have relatively no say in what happens. Communication is very poor between the two groups.

I have been to the nerf side and back without even realizing it. Long long ago in a forum far far away(and now closed) I created a post comparing FWG%'s and post nerf T21's with out my knowledge I unleashed the power of the nerf side. Suddenly and uncontrollably thousands of pistolleers and smugglers were struck down by the powers I had unleashed. Unfortunately I had never intended to unleash these powers, instead I wished to realease the good power of "fixing", but things went horribly wrong. I have since put the nerf-side behind me, but in my wake those who I onced destroyed have been trying to summon the nerf-side against us. We must use the Fixing-side to combat these evil doers!!!!

All joking aside I seriously doubt i caused the nerf as the nerf went to TC less than 48 hours after my post. I have apologized to all the angry to pistolleers to calm them but to no avail..

IMO making the mind hit less decisive would be decreasing buffs and nerfing novice medic or stim b's hard. Medic in general needs a nerf ala CH, so people with just novice can not heall 500 dmg per shot.

Macro,

I remember your posts about that. You didn't cause it. It was already in the works. As slow as the Devs make changes (aren't we 4 months behind on the combat rebalance already?) two days was to quick of a turn around.

Though you did get a lot of the blame.
