No class can really solo all the way to master anymore, unless there master CH. Wich is one of the best things about bieng a Master CH, no matter what you decide, leveling will be easy for you. You can have a CL15 pet, but there limited to what they can take on.


What your all forgetting about the T21, is that its AR3. I dont think it needs a fix in damage, I do think it needs a fix in HAM costs, but I feel the main fix is fixing AR. The T21 and laser rifle, tend to get about the same max damage, but the laser rifle varies alot in damage. Of course this depends on resources, now if AR worked, the T21 would be far superior to the laser rifle. It would have less variance, also it has about 50 percent more damage then the laser rifle. I have already suggested a way to fix ar, its all a matter of them answering. The reason ar is broken, is becuase the resist of the weapon is not listed. So what they need to do is create an invisible resits to all resists of 0, on every single mob/PC. then when you put on armor, it acts like a enhancment, 0+15, or whatever the resist is.

Guys, stop putting 2.5x damage in your top 6, it was already sent in, when they answer it, if its negative towards the idea, then we send it in again. Put something else in, so iftheyanswer positive towards the idea, we have the top 6, and dont haveto go looking for more.

Here is my list.


1) Creature warping. A very major issue. Especially for us newer riflemen who still need to earn XP. Having a target go from 60m ot 0m instantly while you're prone with a rifle pretty much guarantees an incap.


2) Stutter step. Another major issue. Combined with creature warping, increased melee ranges, and the new "run and gun" penalties this pretty much guarantees a MOB will be able to close on you.


3) Inconsistent weapon range modifiers. Brought this up in a thread awhile back. My rifle has an ideal of 60m at +20. Max is 64m at -70. That is a 90 point spread for 4m or 12ft. Yet it's only -50 at 0m. Change this system. Make it a set percent off for each 10m from ideal. Each weapon could be different. For example for every 10m from ideal on my laser rifle it's a -20. So 50m would be +0, 40m -20, 30m -40, 20m -60, 10m -80, and 0m -100. This is just an example. Do this with all ranged weapons and you make carbines good at mid ranges and ok at long and short. For pistols it makes them good at short and bad at long. Rifle is the opposite of Pistol.


4) Accuracy. I seem to be missing a lot more often. Even when I'm kneeling and not moving. The recent mods are a bit to harsh. They should probably be about halfway between what they were and what they are.


5) HAM costs. Lower the costs a bit. They seem a bit excessive as they are now on the higher end rifles.


6) Weapons. Two points here. Reduce the number or named resources required to build weapons. Maybe cut them in half. As it stands now the T21 requires 4 or 6. I can't quite remember. This is causing them not to appear on some servers and some, such as mine, the required materials were of such low quality to make the T21 not very effective. This may be a weaponsmith issue but I think it's effecting the riflemen enough to include it on our report.


I don't think we should be including anything about the BH eye shot or something like that. The riflemen report should be about fixing and improving our class. Calling for nerfs on another class, however justified, doesn't seem to be the purpose of these reports. Those issues are better handled and more appropirate elsewhere.

1 ) Surprise shot , our class defining shot, is broken.. you can fire it while not in covert and all it does is about the same damage as strafeshot 1 , in a random pool.. im surprised very few people pointed it out.. its supposed to be our SNIPER SHOT ..dammit. it should be powerfull, maybe make it have a x10~15damage modifier and hit a random pool with a 15 sec reshot time + the conceal abilities of conceal shot and HEAVY ham cost, like 200mind.


2 Range : Commando have range limited special moves,Turret can shot from 70m, so it mean they can tweak a bit with the distances. My idea is : make TAKE COVERT add max range to hit, like +20meters, would define us as snipers, if the devs feel it overpowered, then only make SURPRISE SHOT able to shot from 70 80m away.


3 ) Our "conceal" abilities need to be reviewed, we are supposed to be the hidden killers, change concealshot and surprise shot so when you shot someone in PvP with theses moves, he doesnt autotarget you, but has to actually click on you.


4 ) Rifle crawl speed is broken


5 )Rifle Aimingdoesn't work at all , accuracy modifiers dont stack from multiple aims.


6 )Melee defense is laughable.. c'mon what is the point of giving us 2,5x peinalty and then giving us melee defense modifiers .. please replace it with RANGED defense.



On a side note, AP is broken which doesnt only affects the riffleman class, thats why I didnt put it in the top 6.

Please dont include creature warping as one of your top issues. The reason being that this is the Rifleman top fixes list and warping creatures is a problem for everyone regardless of what weapon they're holding. Warping critters is something that needs to be worked on regardless and has nothing to do with the rifleman class in specific.

Hey, its your forum so feel ok to disagree with me but I disagree - I think we should submit our top six issues every month. If the top six never get addressed then teh same list should be re-submitted.

I don't see them keeping a list of "july - top six" and "august - top six" and implementing all of them.

I see the developers as making minor tweaks, and asking for a constantly-updated list of our top six issues.

Until we see a response that says "this will be fixed" or etc then we can take it off the list, until they try to fix and the fix doesn't work. Otherwise, open issues stay on the top six IMO.

I'll be the first to mention that I play the game more than read the boards but, I started because I want to enjoy the game more. So, here is my list;


1: Reduce Pistol Range (to 50m?) and / or increase rifle range (70-100m?) This is to balance the game, not just our class.


2: Bounty Hunter Eye Shot should cost MIND to use. Be consistent, use mind HAM to do mind HAM.


3: Eliminate the melee damage multiplier or increase our max range. Reasons are previously noted by other players but I would add that if I can attack from cover at between 70 - 100m (as a sniper should) the damage multiplier is not as bad.


4: Fix the T21. numerous suggestions by other players, I like the reduced HAM cost idea myself. Please don't over fix it by making UBER damage T21s ala recent Commando fix.


5: Fix Headshot3; Add KD chance or drop HAM cost + bump up damage.


6:Fix the whole conceal shot / cover component. Reduce our radar visability to less than 20m and alpha our character to a semi-transparent, even in PVP,while taking cover. Add COVER DETECTION that potentially uncovers a person when they fire from within the max rifle range of the detectingplayer(64,70,100 whatever it becomes).The modifiers are obtained fromcounter-sniper tree. Sniper defense is a another sniper on your team, enhance the GROUP play, impress your peers at SOE, add enhanced purpose andcharacter focusto a class, best of all... impress your mom!



Strive for balance, calculated and controlled changes! Baby steps to the door... Baby steps to the elevator... Baby steps to master rifleman.

aldeon i want to know what the concealment line gives a rifleman. I am speced 4/4/3/3 and anything i might be able to kill using conceal i could kill 5 times faster without it more reliably. It dosnt work on higher level mobs it dosnt work on npc's and it dosnt work on PCs. Since the game was not designed for a stealther class it needs to be completely scrapped and replaced with somthing usefull.


2 get thef*cking materials for the t21 on all servers. i have received nothing but rudeness from soe regarding this issue.


3 lower ham costs

Have to seriously disagree with you here. Yes it effects everyone. But it effects us the most. We need range between our target so we don't get that 2.5X damage multiplier. The warping becomes a basic instant incap if you are against any decent opponent. Just because it isn't specific to us doesn't mean we shouldn't include it.


This issue has also been raised on all the other combat class boards. We've gotten support from both the BH and Marksmen. The latter correspondent said he would also put it on his list. The BH's were/are without a correspondent. If we can get this on a couple correspondents list we have a much better chance of getting this fixed in a short period of time. Especially considering the critical nature of this and the long delays SoE has to responding to issues.


Your point about it effect everyone is EXACTLY why we should bring it up. Not dismiss it. We would not only be helping our class, but everyone.

OK here is my toip 6


1) Suprise shot..... This was "fixed" but as it is its a joke... Considering that you have to be vunerable under cover which also takes time and the delay from using it makesthe dmg is pretty low considering.... I thought this should be our strongest attack because of its handicaps and hits only one target....


2) Fix our AE attacks or give us other specials to hit other HAM bars....


3) HAM costs need to be adressed!!! We may do decent dps but its nothing like other classes, atm especially commandos now or even BH and pistoliers. We can only fire our specials 6 times before we are out of mind which we cant heal and become dead meat.(Me being a wookie its lower =( even with max focus/willpower ) IMO we should have the unerfed T 21 with lower HAM costs but ill take lower HAM costs on our nerfed T 21 and cut our losses.


4) 2.5 dmg penalty (sorry i know its on your list) but with warping mobs and flamethrowers it needs to go or be adjusted.


5) IMO conseal shot shouldnt be detected by the mobs friends. Since the recent patch moving mobs get a defense bonus meaning we willmiss more often and will awaken him and his friends...


6) BLOCK... no one talks about block.... It doesnt work and we especially need it our lack of moving accuracy.. since we will be missing mobs more often we need the ability to survive longer to make it balanced and block will help.


7) Accruacy is a joke atm, im an almost master sniper and i miss WAY to often even near optimum conditions. When melee is charging at me i now consider it an instant death cause ill most likely hit (but no where NEARguaranteed)him once while prone and it will not incompacitate him, but if i try to kite him ill miss most my shots even as a sniper and be taken down....

Seemslike a really fair thing to do, since we don't get one, and also since melee can knock us down while we take 2.5 more damage, plus the 2x damage you get from being hit while KD...we don't stand a chance.



And the accuracy now IS RIDICULOUS...I can't hit poop.

Yeah, Im really saying dont include it, include something else, becuase its already one of our number one priorities, and if they dont answer it correctly, or make up some BS excuse, then it automatically goes back in with a different approach then last time.


But if they do say, yeah ok, will drop it, or will change it, then we need to make sure we all have a proper top 6.


So actually, it would be best if you guys made your top 6, then add another top 2 incase some of them get fixed.
