Thread: Devs To Rifleman: Wipe Them Out, All Of Them (the 3 seconds minimum fire rule = death of a class)
Just one thing that I would like to point out about the 1 shot situation: Since that patch that killed the T21, 2 professions have 1 shot PvP capabilities.

Commando Heavy Weapons like Flamethrower, etc..
And unintentionally, TKAs and Melee classes have been known to 1 shot Riflemen who were silly enough to let them get close.
Also Carbineers have been known to one shot people with Crippling Shot & a laser carbine.
I don't think that the 1 shot PvP issue is as much of a concern, I really don't know what the deal was with the T21. Commandos will 1 shot people almost every time if they hit. BHs with a LLC will 2 shot people with auto attacks. But the devs are happy with their preformance now.
Maybe they fired the guy in charge of balancing combat that nerfed the T21 & the new guy has a different philosphy. Maybe they were drinking at work that day. Maybe in some twisted line of thought, they though that 1 shot kills versus mind pool were somehow worse than 1 shot kills vs health or action because you cant heal it (read: they were retarded that day).
So, having said that, why can't we see the possibility of getting 1 shot kills in the future? Because ofthe infamous T21 nerf2 months ago? Please, my Laser rifle powered up has a max damage of 630 something. I have hit Flushing Shot 2s for 3k plus in my combat spam window & 4500 has appeared over their heads. If I were master, I guaranteethe people I hit wouldbe 1 or 2 shots- deadall the time.

Iodan the thing is that those 1 shots are limited, they are not every other shot. I've hit people for over 1100 in PvP but I then followup with a 150 damage shot. To be equal with pistoleers we would need to be doing 1 shots a lot more often than we currently do. Add to that we would be doing them at 64m out and I'm sure the whines would become insane.
The only way I can see this new system working is if they reduce pistoleer damage A LOT.
The Melee Penalty goes away.
They REALLY jack our damage.
They give us some sort of way to hide from other PCs.
Now that they are finally giving Melee players some actual fighting ability (every other class but us considers Melee a joke, you know) our penalty has to go. End of story. Especially if we are going to be firing less often.
Furthermore, if we have to wait 3 seconds between shots, we need one-hit kills. And I don't just mean every now and then. I mean we need real, serious ONE-HIT-KILLS.
I don't care what kind of limits they put on it, we need to get our foot in the door with the whole "sneak attack" concept. Look, the real reason we all have a radar is because if they DIDN'T put one in, it would be the first hack dropped into the game. That's why you can see everthing on the map. Because if they didn't make it so, it would have been hacked in and some people would have a SICK advantage.
So instead we have a radar and everyone can see everyone. However, I can't honestly believe that someone would hack the whole game just to see the few times that Riflemen go stealth and such. Give us limits. Make us be in Cover if we have to. Force us to approach with a Sneak. I don't care what the limits are. If we can find a way to survive 250% Melee Damage, we can sure as **** handle that. But give us a CHANCE to get the first hit. Since it's usually our only one.

sorry, i'm a carbineer checking out the diff responses to the proposed change...umm, they ALSO increased the damage of kd with the kd nerf. guess what? i average 2 damage more ona kd than i used to. thats...it. also, they said that ham costs would be lowered, and that was said of kd as well. guess waht? kd cost went UP 8. charge shot 2 (i know, i know, off topic, but it shows a trail dating back months of failed work) is supposed to be an aoe kd. it was neither aoe, and it didn't kd. they fixed it! yea! oh wait, now it just aggros a group of mobs. no damage. no kd. just aggro. no admission of it STILL being broken.
and they wonder why people lose confidence in them. a clear trail of past failures and attempted fixes, as well as pleasing the mass majority at the expense of the minority. i'm happy that pistoleers are getting fixed (no exaggeration or sarcasm there at ALL), but they need to fix ALL the prof's since they're ALL broken. some MUCH more so than others (*cough* *cough*)

Using your logic, then never said they WOULD and WILL cap our speed at 3 seconds either. Again, if you read the post it was put forward as a proposal. To propose: To put forward for consideration, discussion, or adoption; suggest.
BTW I'm about 4k combat exp away from Int Rifle Special Abilities and about 40k away from Advanced Sniping Accuracy. However, even at my current level how is it possible that I have 0 Rifleman exp? Aparently not only do you have difficulty reading, but counting isn't much of a strong suit either. However, you asked where the damage increase comment was comming from (in your ever so elegant way), so I showed you.
