Thread: Can someone explain to me how to use mind shot and what the deal is with the E11 rifle?
I currently find my laser rifle to be best for me. I use a simple formula:
(30 s / att spd )(((min dmg - max dmg) / 2) + (min dmg)) = avg dmg in a 30-second firefight
This is the raw damage without taking into account armor piercing. I do, however, think of that in addition to the raw damage done in 30 seconds. My current weapon of choice, based on this formula is a sliced Tag Maw laser rifle, which does about 1.5k damage on average (I think) in 30 seconds.
My typical thing to do now is to bleed tough targets using a doulbe-whammy effect of mindshot1 and mindshot2. Then I headshot it until it dies. Not sure if mindshots of the same calibre stack. Anyone know anything about that?
At one point in time, I used to have two rifles--one for long range and one for mid-range fighting, increasing my overall accuracy.
I have noticed that the T-21 has an additional use above and beyond thos already listed:
When attacking social NPC mob groups, the other members only agro if your first shot does not kill your target. (tested on Eclipse, on rori and naboo. Works on Gundarks, Rebels, Maulers). Has anyone else had similar experience?
So I've been using my T-21 (sliced for damage, does 156-420, with a 30% damage powerup does 156-550 or there abouts) to thin Mauler ranks on naboo (getting rid of the apprentices and acolytes) with 1200 base HAM (which, while it doesn't do the 3000 floaty number damage, does do about 1800-2000) headshot2s, and then switching to my Jawa Ion rifle to dizzy then suppress or startle the full-blooded maulers (depends on whether they pull a sword or gun after getting dizzied) so that they fall over, then headshotting them to oblivion (back on the T-21). I use my Spraystick on light blue cons, just to spare the condition on my bigger guns. My laser rifle rests unused in my backpack since I got the T-21.
For high HAM mobs that aren't social, I maskscent, and use MS1 & 2 with the T-21 before switching to Ion and firing warning shots and using phec dart traps to slow em down. Leviasqualls are officially my trap xp farms, and I group on Lok for rifle xp.
However after hearing about how good the E-11 can be, I might check eclipse for some good plumbum iron. It could replace my Ion rifle for all cases except stun vulnerability...
Just a quick note on the AP2, if a mob has no energy resist you will not gain the 50% (56.25% is the realgain I believe)extra damage. AP is currently bugged so that it only works on targets with some resist to the damage type you are doing. This could of been fixed,but I doubt it. I've been busy so not had a chance to check lately.
So for hitting unarmoured / no energy resist targetsthe DLT20a is better, but for those targets with some energy resist the E11 works great. That is, if they're good quality on your server.
