I think the bulk of what the Devs were referring to was that with the regenerative HAMs for specials, spending mind on specials is no longer as critical as it is/was.

But I mean wow... can't we save the Publish 8 screaming for publish 8?






I interprept that in two ways. First the mind will now be healable making it like all the other professions. Second that no one will be able to directly dmg the mind anymore(I doubt this one).


Either way I predict the combat system will be severely borked.

True dat... there are ways to buff and heal the mind now..

So why make if even easier?

Im still baffled at this but i cant really tell much till i see it work ingame...
its all worries and speculation irght now ...and i hate that...

the inherent weaknesses of the mind pool made it so that rifleman could win hands down in PvP very fast. The weakness of the mind pool never benefitted my random damage I did with Pistoleer. all my fights would last 10-15 minutes, and It was all about who hit their muon downer first.


If you are upset that you can no longer just target the mind, you are really just upset that you no longer can rule in PvP. I don't think you were ever meant to.

What you just said only enforces what we have said all along. it is not the mind that is the major problem but buffs and stims that you can use at novice medic that heall 400-500 dmg a pop. Top that off with 80% comp armor and battles last forever. Rifleman unfortunately dodged both those bullets and thus because of how the system works are overpowered.


However if you add in mind healing guess what, combat becomes who has the most stims and that is it.

First I highly doubt that they will remove headshot, it is all that rifleman really have when you break it down.


Everything else hits random pools, and is not reliable.


Even pistols have bodyshot, and carbines have action shots, the interpretation is off.


Next, healing mind......ok....using stims cost.......mind......allowing the healing of mind allows for toooo many broken loops and will make many things insane.


So please, pub 7 hasn't even hit yet and alot changed from the time it was first spoken of until now....from the wookie armor to putting packs on vendors so alot can happen and it is always in flux.

Dead on! With our mind attacks even a newbie with no playing skill at all can kill another player in seconds(like BH eye shot). Anyone complaining about ths "fix" wants to learn how to fight properly... All proffs are in the same boat here, Dont think you can out dammage a pistoleer? Or get hit by a carbineer at long range more times than you hit him?




What are you talking about? Take a Jawa at 5.0 speed firing Headshot3 at 1.8x delay and a Novice Rifleman at +30 personal speed mod. That would mean that he could fire that shot every 6.3 seconds. I cannot recall killing anyone in less than 3 shots unless they were already close to death. Three shots would take 12.6 seconds to complete at 6.3 seconds, with another 6.3 seconds before they could fire again (18.9 seconds). And that assumes all three shot hit. Snce when has a Novice rifleman been accurate enough to consistently hit 3 consecutive shots while moving, as most PvP battles take place on the move? In seconds?


Seems to me the advise Masters give on these boards all the time is that you should avoid PvP like the plague until you reach Master. No offense, but this is a ridiculous satement.

I do not interpret it at all, since all my interpretations would be wrong the one way or the other in the end.


It could mean that they shaft all targeted HAM specials and only keep the random HAM ones.

It could also mean that they make entertainer and medic buffs equal and give docs and CMs the ability to heal mind without penalty.

It could mean that they get rid of all combat professions altogether.


To guess the fate of the combat revamp by merely half a sentence in some preview is nonsense.

You know what the biggest problem with this game is? When the developers make a change, they don't give you any explanation as to why they are doing it. They just make some random off hand and completely ambiguous remark regarding Publish 8 changes and it makes everybody nervous and second guess what the hell the developers are doing. They either need to give us a full explanation or just keep their mouths shut until such a time as when they are ready to explain what they are planning.
