Thread: Look out!!People are crying for Medics to have the ability to heal mind.
actually it is more of an issue... and i am starting to agree that there needs to be a combat mind pool healer, whether its entertainer or medic i dont care.
later it wont matter WHAT pool you hit, if youre doing 4000 damage a shot, who cares?(and it will get there, unless the devs Nerf some more) pvp is so out of whack. it doesnt matter if you have a 10 point mind pool or a 1200 point mind pool. 1 shot either way.
mind pool damage that is UNHEALABLE on the field is a -major- advantage in favor of the Rifleman. action or health damage can be healed and the guy can get right back up again.
Seriously, CloseHauled76...
Why in the hell would anyone go rifle if not for having at least ONE advantage.
And to whoever gave my first post 1 star: cry me a river if you don't want to hear the truth. The pistol IS a far superior weapon to the rifle in every way, except that it can't target mind pool. Pistols can combine standard shots with their special shot and still expect to hit the same bar (usually). Pistols have a higher DPS than rifles. Pistols have a more useful range: 95% of the time fights end up at closer than our rifle's ideal range, so that's more of a penalty than a bonus.
So, let's just remove a rifleman's ability to target mind and totally destroy the class while overpowering pistoleers even more. ![]()
It seems a bit funny to me that the people who are complaining that the medic cannot heal mind pool damage are not also complaining that they cannot heal Riflemen quickly enough to save them because Riflemen suffer 2.5x the melee damage of other characters.
This is about balance, people. The strengths of one profession work against the weaknesses of others and vice-versa. If everyone did the same thing, then there would only be one profession. Truth is if you bring a switchblade to a long-distance gun fight, you deserve to have large holes blown out of your places where large holes do not belong. Likewise, if you have a long barreled rifle and you are standing toe-to-toe with someone, it will probably be a bit hard to get the business end of it pointing at anything other than empty space. And you will like have the pointy end of sharp objects protruding from your body before the fight is over.
Balance Rifleman should be vulnerable at melee range, but he should also be nearly impossible to detect unless 1) he is stupid or 2) he unleashes a large volume of fire that can be traced.
But that is only my opinion.
Entertainers should be able to heal mind damage. Give them a reason to be in PvP. Make it so they have to be playing their instrument (or dancing), sorta like a bard in DAOC, and can't be weilding a weapon. Then give them some abilities to heal mind wounds close in at early stages and from afar later on in mastery.
I certainly wouldn't mind that as a rifleman. It would make another class PvP friendly and add a bit of strategy to my PvP encounters.
Too many whiners indeed.
If a medic type prof either its Doc/CM can heal mind along with action and health then I see it that it's time for everyone to make that prof because they probaly just won't die.
If someone takes a bullet in the head and can go on like nothing even happened then something is really wrong with this picture.
Giving Entertainers mind heals is a great idea that brings for them a needy skill that would bring some entertainers to pvp.
I would think a master entertainer could heal mind woulds/dmg very fast in a cantina or camp. So giving them something like this on the battlefield would be just awesome.
