Thread: The Class Act Pistoleer Correspondent

Yo...jimm2k. We're asking for a direct nerf? We didn't ask for jack but corrective actions towards our profession. Not until the devs dropped their proposed combat changes bombshell on us did we stand up, united (all 37 of us) and cry out for justice. I don't care one whit if they ever make any changes to Pistoleer. Leave you guys the way you are. Make you stronger. Make you weaker. I DON'T CARE. But once you go weakening my profession in direct response to another professions un-founded claims that we are too strong...FOR THE SECOND TIME (I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU WHINERS FOR THE MOVEMENT PENALTY)...I, and my Rifleman brothers and sisters, get mad. And then we speak out.
so asking for the range limit of pistoleers to be lets say 32 and carbineers be 54 or whatever was posted wasnt a direct nerf call.
As for this whole movement modifier thing. Here's a big fat dose of reality for you. Pistols, at any range short of point blank (less than 1m for those curious), when the shooter and target are both still.....are less accurate than rifles. Period. We're talking "reality" here, not SWG. If you even try to argue that point you're an ill-informed individual. Now, Pistols are more effective at point blank range only. And they have a higher rate of fire and are easier to conceal. That is the beauty of that weapon. While on the run Rifles aren't accurate. Pistols shouldn't be very accurate. Actually, carbines are the weapon of choice for firing while moving. But that little dose of reality will never make it into this game, either.
we are talking fantasy swg agreed
The movement penalty should only apply when the shooter is moving. As it is...if a target is running directly for us and we're prone, we have the same movement penalty that would apply if we were running away from him. That's completely unrealistic, and is one of the most patently unfair nerfs in this game.
thats a good point you should bring that up to he devs. not ask for a range limit on how far a pistoleer should be able to fire
Once again, keep your Pistol specialness. Hell, keep your bogus and unrealistic accuracy ratings. But give us back ours! We're the class that should have the greatest accuracy, and instead we have the worst.
our accuracy is really bad at long range just to let you guys know. our best weapons have ideal range at point blank or within 20m. you should be the best at long range accuracy but that doesnt mean a carbineer or pistoleer cant fire at this same range.
Again...prove to me that Rifles are, in reality, less accurate than pistols and that hundreds of years of military experience is incorrect and I will gladly admit the error in my ways.
again this is swg not reality and we arent firing bullets anyway we are firing energy, acid etc.
Respect to the Rifleman
jaegen88, i am not a person that will attack another group or person, so i will just ask you a couple simple questions? do you fell that there should be only one class with the same attacks damage and specials? or that there should be differant class each with its only strenghts and weakness?
personally i would i would like to have some differant classes. so let me ask you this simple question does this seem fair to you?
pistol fastspeed, short rangeand low damage.
carbines med. speed, med range and med damage.
rifle slow speeed, long range and high damage.
would you say that at 64m that a carbine should have a better change to hit a target then a pistol, or a pistol to have a better change to hit a target it 10m then a rifle? or a rifle should hit better much better at 64m then a pistol or a carbine? lets say that right now rifle has high speed andmeddamage and can hit well at all ranges well. would you say that this would be unbalancing to the other class? lets top this off with the fact that the other classes got a damage increase on any attack that hits them in melee range while they had their weapon in their hands? would this be fair?
I won't debate about Jaegen acts, he was right to do so, that's what you should know. Won't try to argue with ppl with inconsistant argues when things said are clear and simple. I let every other profession read even this lone thread and make their own oppinion.
Btw, for the 3 second thing :
1) that WAS NOT a pistoleer demand. We asked for Speed Mods to be changed so a master riflemen won't be able to shoot for 6k every second. Yes I know, it is really unbalancing to ask for Riflemen to not be able to do 6 times our dmg at the same rate. Who said AP3 ?
2) you should all realise that you are 5 times above our best DPS at our best position with our best pistol. 5 times...hello, anybody ?
3) We aren't as accurate as you state. Btw, someone with a pistol can be very accurate, even at 32m. Now, you for sure should be more accurate than us at 64. In fact, you are.
I don't know what you really understand by "pistoleer", you should consider every pistol handler isn't a Pistoleer. BH and Smugglers are better pistol users than us for example. The main problem Pistoleers have is the Speed thing. The formula is so bugged that anyone reaching 100 (or almost, like you) can shoot whatever he wants with any weapon, whatever the delay is once per second. Do you realise ? 6500 dmg every second ! Best thing we can do is 1500 (with high dmg FWG5, no AP, heat dmg). Even if you are limited to the third, you're still far above. And you aim Mind Pool.
Really, you are calling for BALANCE ? How can we get balanced if you want to nerf the smallest one ?
REALLY : if you want this to be fixed, you should ask for something coherent, like the fact defense while moving bonuses shouldn't work the same way at high distance. The fact is it is very hard to hit someone running with a rifle if he is too close BUT this drawback should but way less a pain if distance is higher, the ratio speed is much smaller. The problem is those defense skills are working the exact same way at 60m than at 0m...so everything is defending with max bonuses. It is not your accuracy or w ours that is the problem, it is the desenses. A Pistoleer should be very hard to hit at short distance (much harder than a rifleman for example) but this should disappear above 32 or so, or make fade slowly with the distance. Asking THIS would fix YOUR problem without nerfing anyone more than necessary (it is a global fix, not a nerf. It should work this way).
