Hi there,


First time poster to the forums, I've been a rifleman for awhile now and I quite enjoy it.


I was reading the new updates notes for TC and I realized something I have yet to see mentioned here.


The update says "Sniper Shot - Added 20 meter minimum range"


The key in that statementis the word minimum, telling me that the closest I can shot a target with sniper shot is 20 metres and no closer, while still being able to shoot from the distance of 65 metres.


This seems to me a fix by the devs to ensure that sniper shot abuse doesn't occur to some degree, most likely a pvp intended fix.


It would be pretty stupid to make us long range and then elimiate our best long range move, I mean who the hell is going to shoot a krayt 20 metres away in a prone position.


I don't think we need to worry, but maybe someone can confirm my position by testing on TC?

No, there isn't.


Anyone have the post earmarked saying that we will no longer be able to use dual +10's since it goes beyond the maximum range that is supposed to exist in the game? That holding true and them taking away 20 meters of our range=scary possibilities for the future. I don't mind having a minimum range req so long as I have a further maximum range cap. T*t for tat, so far we're just getting tat's.




I think every rifleman would mind having a min range req. How are we going to fight in any dungeons? Not realistic.




With the other attacks that are non-rifleman specific that your template involves, this happened to a skill not a weapon. To snipershot not sniper rifles. I'll take a hit in minimum range in exchange for a boost in maximum. As it stands all they did was up and limit our firing range to 44 meters, a distance that can be covered far too quickly when we have a wind up for the shot.


And if something else was keeping the krayt's attention and tanking it I'd be happy to lie prone 10 meters away from it snipershotting the beast personally. I do more damage with higher risk of taking a lot more damage due to my posture and what I'm hunting, but it is my decision not the games.

A word of warning with this very mild Nerf.

It is still a Nerf.

Also, military operations frequently calls for the sending out of "Probes" to feel out the defenses of the opposition. Once the opposition has been figured out, the real attacks begin.

This mild Nerf was just a Probe, IMO.

Honestly, Good Work on keeping the rifleman community informed. You are one of the better corro's that I have seen in this game. You are almost Tankesque (J/K I have to give Tank some props here and there)
