Aldeon,

I'm a novice, 20k away from being able to train my very first tier 1 skill. I have read your suggestion on the order to advance in the skills, but was wondering if you could give a revised version of the order from a strictly PVE only point of view. Any changes?

Get Sniper Shot 1, Mind Shot 2 is very helpful. Head Shot 3 is not neccessary, it does a bit more damage, with alot more HAM costs. If your grouping, go for flushing shot 2 first, this gives you an AE damage, more then Head Shot 3, (tier 3 Counter-Sniping) and it does random pool, wich means you help the group out to kill the mob.

If soloing, get conceal 1, while there are not alot of high level nonsocial mobs, at your level there are. And there still are a few high level non-social mobs, and conceal shot will help alot.

If your doing both, get conceal 1 first, so that when you solo you have an option. Mind Shot 2/1+Head Shots, or Conceal Shot. (On a Side Note, you do Have Warning Shot right? Very very helpful skill, I would not have gotten master withouth Warning Shot) Then get Flushing Shot 2. After that, all you basically need is the Rifle Speed Line, and then Master

I find flushing 2 to be extremely useful. My standard tactic (in both PvP and PvE) is to open up with flurry2, then flushing2, to put down dizzy and stun on all the targets. Stun seems to significantly reduce the damage the mobs and players do, so this is extremely useful as you'll tend to be on the receiving end of a lot of autofire responses. PvE generally works out to flurry/flushing, then either strafe2 if there's enough targets to make it worthwhile or just a few suppression/startle shots to see if I can trigger a posture change. In PvP I use a CDEF and just spam flurry/flushing while my AT-STs actually kill players, using Muon Gold and switching to laser/strafe2 whenever I need to really contribute AE damage.

Aldeon -

Just a quick question... have you had a chance to experiment at all with Mind boosting foods ala Chef's make and whether or not there are any that restore the Mind Pool when they buff. I know there are some nice Focus boosting ones at least. If not as I work up the Chef chain was wondering if you'd be willing to be my guinea pig test subject for the affects of mind/substat buffing foods.

Yes actually, before every fight, I down2 mind foods. RIght now, our guild chef is not master, so his best mind food is +88 to mind/focus/willpower. However, you cannot make these in crates yet, so its very hard to get alot of these like you can get 100+ power ups at one time.

Im not quite sure how much it reduces, I used to down moun gold before everyfight. Im bugged though, and I cant eat any spice. Havnt been able to for the last week, very very annoying. But when our chef gets master, I will only do food. Becuase the downer on spices last to long, and we move around alot, and I need to be ready all the time.

Each 10 points of focusing stat (str/quick/focus) reduces the HAM cost of a special move for its associated pool by 1. So 600 focus = 60 less mind use than the actual amount.

I personally carry around Muon Gold all the time. I don't always use it, but it's sort of a get out of jail free card. If I have a good healer backing me up, with Muon Gold I'm basically invincible - even if I go down from mind pool (pretty hard in of itself, with gold up) you regenerate so fast even with the incap penalty that you typically spring back up in about 5 seconds. Combine with effectively unlimited styles and you're pretty much in god mode.

I have been told that themindshot 1 and 2 stacking also, but I can't tell; do they? Also, when are they going to fix conceal shot; it still only works on the one you are attacking, while his friends all run up to pwn you

Couple questions:

1. When i use MS1+MS2 it stacks....but if MS2 misses (a)or i dont like the damage done by it (b), hitting off another MS2restarts the stack andnulls/deletes MS1orjust overrights the MS2 straight up...

2. Could you break down how the speed mods for a rifleman work...lets say a 6.0 speed rifle, +50 rifle speed brings that 6.0 to what speed? (ive always been a little confused about this)

Thanks alot for your time, if anything doesnt make sence ill re-right as best i can.

may the force be with you

When you shoot another MS2, it replaces the damage but not the timer. So it will tick as long as the first one was set. And it does not delete MS1, it may appear to though, becuase MS1 has alot shorter timer then MS2. So, if your not seeing the MS2 it ran out.

All + to speed works the same way, its a percentage decrease. +50 means 50 percent decrease of your speed. Naturally we benefit the most from this becuase of our high base speed.

i originally entered the rifleman skill set because i could make a bowcaster and i'm a wookiee.

i recently broke down and got a T21, a laser rifle, and a spray stick from probably the best weaponsmith in my galaxy (total price 115k). the spraystick is over 40 dps (unsliced and unmodded)which is the highest of the 3 but has no armor piercing. i am upset becasue the bowcaster(also no armor piercing)maxed out will never be as good (comes close but based on visible stats isnt as good) as any of these maxed out weapons and this means that Chewbacca a rifleman uses a second rate crap weapon(not a very happy thought). Would you please let me know if there is any reason why i should use a bowcaster instead of any of these weapons in any given circumstance. Am i missing something here? For now i've put my bowcaster an extremely dificult weapon to make in my trophy case at home for safe keeping. Also could you tell me what your weapon of choice is?

Regardless of your answer i find rifleman to be extremely fullfilling and i am almost a master armoursmith and only picked up weaponsmith so i could make qlty bowcasters depending on your answer i may be dropping weaponsmith entirely. By the way you are doing a better job as correspondent than any of the others i've seen in the other forums. the weaponsmith totally boched his job with his last requests the armoursmith one is doing a really good job but so far you're the best i've seen and i'm gratefull for your efforts. I just hope the devs extend the range of rifles beyond that of pistols and carbines because rght now its pretty silly that they can shoot as far as a long range weapon.

thx

Bump rifle range to atleast 100meters.
