Don't forget, the DXR-6 is easier to Krayt. It's also good for non-masters (like me---soon to be 4440 Doc, Master CM, 0030 Rifleman), because the damage is comparable to the T21, but the accuracy and speedare better.

Rifleman's only viable weapons

T21

Jawa Rifle

Laser Rifle

That's it. Devs need to start making useable weapons, otherwise it's just a waste of space.

The geo rifle is the best rifle i have used..... 3.6 speed shooting acid vuln mobs with headshot 3

omfg yeah. I had some made with +112 to ideal. Jebus! I'm not sure what T21's best is, but its no where near that!

To the guy who said the Elite carbine is the least used by Carbineers in PvP... LMAO

Have you ever played as a Carbineer? It is by far the best Carbine for PvP, still pales by far in comparison to other profession's PvP weapons, but if you look at the other Carbines... it's flat out better damage than a DXR6 (and faster, speed actually counts for pure carbineers), the EE3 has no AP, the laser is medium AP but damage mitigation kills it, and the Nym's is like a poorly crafted DXR6.

So to sum up, yes, the Elite IS the only worthwhile carbine to use in PvP for a Carbineer. My guess is you've never played as one, but if you have, I suggest you do some research, maybe take a look at the Carbineer boards.

So if we're talking about useful weapons in PvP, Riflemen don't need to complain, they already outnumber their ranged counterparts in that category, and if it's PvE, well these new rifles are great. I'm a master rifleman and master carbineer, and I can tell you my rifle selection is soooo much nicer than carbine

Just wanted to add... the only time I ever use my Carbines in PvP is to land a KD. My Rifles already have a much nicer and reliable AOE dizzy, and they provide at least 3-4 times the amount of damage I can deal with my best Carbine in PvP, whether I use the T-21 (heavy AP) or Jawa (stun). The only reason I've kept Carbineer is because I'm hoping it'll get a boost at some point, the combat balance should help this out, and Carbines are by far my favorite looking guns (too bad there's awful selection).

Laser Carbine > Elite Carbine

A Krayt Enhanced Snub-nose and Laser Carbine are the two key ones to have for pvp.

The laser carbine can never compare to the elite in pvp, only time a laser is better is when the opponent havent got RDM3 otherwise the elite is by far the superior gun.

I can do the numbers for you but it would be so much easier to reference a post on the Carbineer forums.

This is sticky'd at the top, an entire post on the only weapon most hardcore Carbineers will bother with for PvP. A laser can come in handy sometimes (mostly against all melee with no ranged mitigation) and the Snub-nose might be worth it if your opponent is unarmored, but for any serious PvPer the Elite is your best choice easily.

I'll give you an example of how damage mit kills the laser. Let's say you have a 100-560 Laser and a 210-430 Elite, power up'd about the best you can get for either weapon, non krayt or other weapon loot enhanced.

Apply mitigation 3 and that becomes a100-284 Laser, add in the 25% med AP bonus and you have125-355 damage.

Apply mitigation 3 and you have a210-298 Elite.

That's 240 average damage on the Laser, 254 on the Elite. In addition you have to account for the lower speed found on Elites, because Master Carbineers don't come anywhere near the speed cap, and you'll see that the Elite wins out for PvP. The Snub-nose doesn't come close because while it is nice unbuffed (low HAM cost), the damage is roughly a bit lower than the Elite, with no AP (automatic 50% reduction on armored opponents.)

I actually quite like the DXR6-B, I have a couple.. one I had made just for the sake of it and another Krayt version.. I haven't been playing as much I'd like to lately and need to get them both Sliced ( Prays for Damage Slices ). They are a decent and useful weapon..

The Lithanium Rifle I may get my hands on for just collectors value.. There's no point in using it for combat, you might as well use a Cheap Tusken Rifle instead.

As far as the Berserker Rifle goes, I'll definitely get at least one made up for myself.. Another Damage type in my Toolbar cant be a bad thing.. but yeah, its probably going to be about as effective as the SG82 is.. which isn't all that useful..

Well i agree with ya all except the usfullness of the sg82... i can smoke some krayt with mine... and goe cave... allot are weak to cold... infact... allot of things are... granted.. that the dmg isn't lazer lvl... but... it still is a dmg type that may have a reason in the future... or get an upgrade.. *crosses his fingers*

I had the same thought about killing Krayt with SG82 way back when and tried it. You can damage them alot better with a nice Damage Sliced T21 and a powerup , because of their Heavy Armor and the T21's AP3 against the SG82's AP0 you'll just end up doing more damage with the T21. Even though the Krayt's Energy resistance is a lot higher than their Cold resistance.

I agree the Geo cave has some MOBS that are vulnerable to Cold too.. a good point, but it also has alot that are vulnerable to Acid and the DXR6 is a heavy hitter in comparison to the SG82 . It is handy having a couple of different damage types to play with, I'm not saying its bad.

DXR-6 + PVP + Headshot 3= alot of mind wound

That is nothing to smirk at, the damage is comparable to T-21 except it is medium AP and acid damage, but the fact that its 60%+ wound be about the same type thing as flame is to commandos.

Off the shelf both the T21 and the Disruptor are comparable. The T21 has a slight edge in damage whereas the Disruptor has an edge in speed. A T21 is heavy AP vs the disruptor's Medium AP. One of the things i learned as a pistoleer is to look at the resistances of mobs.Take a Rhoa Kwi Packleader, which has light armor, 65% energy resist, and 0% (not vulnerable) for acid. Which you think is more efficient? The T21 or the Disruptor?

Well if armor piercing was working right the T-21 would be better. However it isn't so odds are it would be a draw or more likely the Disrupter.

And actually our useful guns aren't

  1. T-21

  2. laser

  3. jawa

It's

  1. T-21/laser

  2. Jawa

people either use the T-21 or the laser rifle due to personal preference and honestly I think just about everyone uses the T-21. It is basically the constant heavy hitter where the laser is therandom heavy hitter. They are both essentially as useful as the other, although the T-21 has the upper hand in my book, and both do essentially the same thing.

???

Since when is AP not working? Look at the numbers floating above your targets head...not the numbers in your combat log.

The number in the combat log is the base damage from your special. The actual damage after factoring AP, AR, and resists is shown over your targets head. Outside of a few bugged specials for varying professions where they get 1's showing, they seem right.

For instance, my combat log shows something like 1k....i see 2k float over my targets head...theni see it's ham go down a lot.I think it's working.

Is there an option to just show the dmg that you are doing against your target? And not just everybody that is attacking the same thing?

In your combat log, the damageyou inflictis highlighted(default is green). That's the base damage i'm refering to. I don't think there is a filter setting for the damage visuals (the floating number above the heads).
