Thread: How to solo a krayt dragon?? Plz could u give me some pointers???

yeah but i'm not a CM....
but i've gotten lots of pointers! now all i have to do is move up the medical proff a bit and go find me some krayts 
and of course hope it isn't to crowded at the graveyard

LOL at least they hunt like a hunter slowly taking out there target from a hidden position. Its funny to see little ole me and my scythe taking on that beast of a kryat. The game is screwed anyways a few rifleman getting some pearls isnt going to hurt anybody except for the jedi who go broke because we charge them uber for the pearls. And no one likes jedi anyways.

In a starport duel (close-range) with the given defenses for a pistoleer vs a riflemen,a pistoleer should win.About 1 in2 attacks will be dodged, the pistoleer will stick a blind so the riflemen's accuracy goes to pot, the riflemen's block only reduces damage by half even when it does work, and the higher dps of a riflemen is nil because they aren't connecting half the time. In a long-range battle (sniping?) a riflemen should win. The riflemen's higher damage output, along with better range mods at further distances should allow them to connect on enough shots before the pistoleer is in good damage range to win. I'm not saying the system is perfect as it is, but there should be close range advantages for some profs and long-range advantages for other profs. I believe this is what the devs are trying to work towards.

Well ya don't see pikeman soloing them now do ya? They're the only 2 professions really capable of soloing at the moment... And it really shouldn't be this way anyways. Find some friends and have a nice picnic at the krayt graveyard...

If you think a Pikeman who knows what they're doing can't solo one, you'd better think again

We had a post awhile back regarding what professions can solo krayts. I can't find the post, but here are a few good solo krayt killing profs/prof combos.
Riflemen can conceal shot a krayt
2H swordsmen can straight up kill krayts with regular attacks
2H swordsmen/CM 4404 can solo krayts even faster
2H swordsmen and any ranged prof can kill krayts
Riflemen/doctor can tank andheadshot krayts
Fencer/CM can tank and poison krayts
TKA/CM can tank and poison a krayt
Pikemen with decent dot weapons can solo krayts
Pikemen/TKA or /Fencer or /2h swordsmen can solo krayts
Riflemen/Commando/medic can annihilate krayts (this is the fastest solo method for killing krayts imo)
Commando /Fencer /Pikemen /TKA /2H can quickly kill krayts
There's more, but thoselisted can fairly easily and efficiently kill krayts - all in under an hour, most less.
I'm not disagreeing or agreeing with anyone being able to solo krayts, but as the game is, many can and many want to be able to because it is possible and there is really nothing wrong with that.

Who said commandos have 2-3 heavy AP weapons, you talking about grenades and/or rocketlaunchers/cannons/rocket launchers/disposable weapons or am i missing something, flamethrowers? blasterp pistol? heavy acid rifle? those are the only commando weapons i know of and they have None to Light armor piercing. Rocket Launchers yes they do blast damage, but accuracy for killing a krayt is horrid, plus you need to /kneel /aim first, you are seriously vulnerable to attack due to the very slow speed of these guns and animation ingame required to actually stand up and start attacking again lol
ive been a commando for a long time, been on many krayt killing sprees, and yes the flamer is a great weapon for DoT"s, ill usually plant some dot's and use my blaster pistol for a while, But i will only attempt this in a group, Commando's have virtualy ZERO melee defense and get put on the floor easily

As a Commando, you should be familiar with your own weapons

I too agree that commando is not working as it should. That said, since the last release bleeds, burns, poisons, and diseases are all counting towards your kill looting rights. A 15k burn goes a long ways when killing a krayt. Also, comando uses 169 skill points to master or 140 to get 0440 which is plenty to lay a good burn and still have skill points left over for other professions. Pick up master riflemen andget 0040 in medic to be able to use stim E's and you can tank just about anything, regardless of melee defense. I personally recommend master rifles, 0440 commando, 0040 medic, and 3000 tka. You won't get force of will, but you will have decent meditate abilities. This template is very good at PVE - even better than 2H swordsmen combos I might dare to say...
