I use sliced marine armor chestplate and arm guards. All of them give 35% effectiveness. Also have some padded armor pieces...but bone armor for helmet since it has low ham costs and I got it sliced...25% energy protection...not too bad.

I thought of it after someone said the Pistoleer Correspondent listed it as an advantage. Couldn't stop laughing fora whileafter reading that. ![]()
Umm for the on topic bit, I use a HAM sliced composite helm sometimes, around 40% protection and hits mind stats for about 130, good if you combine it with mind food.

What I find is that I have to have more than one piece of armor, depending on the situation. The two main types of damage that are consistantly dished out in PvE are Energy and Kinetic. For Energy I grab some Bone Armor. A Chestplate and Legs combo can easily get into the 30-40% range and will often have a Mind Encumbrance of under 10 each. For Kinetic I go with Ubese, again, a Jacket and Legs will be in the same range (and have more secondaries), and the Encumbrance will be under 20 each. That's not bad considering the protection you are afforded.
But the more types of protection an armor offers, the more HAM it subtracts. Chitin can be used as an alternative to Ubese, but I find that the stats are about the same on Encumbrance and Ubese has far better condition maxes.
