Ham costs are ONLY for special moves, so i usually slice speed, With some guns hwoever, I find it useful to slice damage, THe laser rifle is good damageslice, but youcould do speed as well, and simply not use headshot all the time.

I also do NOT like the Laser Rifle .

Hitting a Headshot III for 1500 damage is fun

Hitting a Headshot III for 85 damage is not fun and will get you killed .

I'd go with the Rifleman's workhorse rifle , a well made DLT20A . Just like a good wife the DLT20A will do good steady reliable damage to a beings mind pool over time hehe .

Rifleman: Potential Max Damage > ALL..never question it..never..EVER.

I will not take the time to explain why, nor post damage logs, nor anything else: you get to master rifleman..you'll realize why, and you won't EVER EVER look at anything other than a T21 (if available) or a Laser (if Available) in that order.

On Eclipse the bets base stats fora Laser Rifle I have seen is;

20-352 Damage

6.2 Speed

I bought one of theese and got a 30% speed slice

I then use 31% speed power ups bringing the speed down to 3.0.

Usually hits for somewhere between 300-800 with the od 80 or 1200 damage hits (without specials)

Im doing alot of soloing, figthing white cons and the od yellow ones, and I prefer the speed over the damage powerups since the worst thing that seems to happen to me is a bunch of add's swarming me.

And with the high speed I can afford changing my target taking care of the easier ones and then go back to the hard ones again.

my rifle is 19-407, this is after i got it sliced, it has 6.9 speed which isnt the best tbh. it is has a 63 mind cost

ive seen jtech rifles that are 350 ish unsliced with lower speed than mine and lower ham cost. im think ing about buying one but havent got around to it.

for mei love my laser rifle. with headshot 3 i have done shots of up to 1800 and as low as 90. but the average seems to hovers around 800 - 1000.

i also have a DTL20a which i like, its about 110 - 190 dmg i think. and has spd of 4.0 after it got sliced.

with headshot3 i do about 600-800 dmg.

i like both but i preferto use my laser.

a. because getting a 1000+ mindshot2 is awsome then getting a 800 dmg mindshot1 aswell the thing ur shooting wont last long.

b. because the DTL20a has a AR of 0 and alot of the things ive been shooting have armour. so although it says im doing 700 dmg in the combat spam im actaully doing much less. where as the laser has a AR or 2 which in a lot of cases im doing more dmg than it says in the combat spam.

i would have a e11 rifle as i hear than on some servers that they can have better dmg and speed than DTL20a's and also are AR1. but currently on my server (eclipse) there is no good quality iron to make them

I can hit up to 2400 dmg with my 20 -350 5.5 laser rifle. Yea I get some low shots but many many times I roll over 1000 a hit. You will never see a shot over 1000 with a dlt20a or a Tusken. If you do you are lucky.

Laser rifles are very much worth it cause I like watching mind shot 3 tick away at 1000 a dmg. Sometimes it sucks but usually I am averaging 600 - 1000 a tick on what ever I shoot. I also find the accuracy of the Laser a hell of alot better than the Tusken or Dlt20a as well.

Now, from what I have tested I get a crap load more exp when using the laser when I group with people. Other day we are killin mobs and when I would focus on shooting instead of healing I'd avg 1700 exp per kil while the rest of my group got 1k.

If I changed to any lower gun, I got substantially less. I'm talking 800 exp per kill instead of 1700. That was with either a spraystick or a E11. Funny thing is I usually never use power ups or special attackswhen I group but still do outstanding dmg with the laser. If you ask why, I am also a combat medic, so I do both.

Any way, thats my outtake of the laser rifle. Its a killer gun and I am happy I use one.

Mine's 25-533 6.3spd, sliced and powered.

2350 damage Master Headshot. Yummay. (Of course, I can hit for 90 with HS3 too.. so it's really give and take lol.)

I'm messing around with a laser right now that just barely misses the 700 damage mark.... That's base damage not shooting damage. I've hit for over 4k with it.

How's that possible?

A master with near perfect materials can barely break 360 base on a rifle. To break 700, you'd need a 420 max damage base rifle with a perfect 30% slice and use 30% powerups.

The 30% powerups aren't bad, and the 30% slice isn't bad... but how could you possibly have had a base rifle that powerful? =p

Im loving my Laser Rifle.. Originally at 20-356, now after slicing, its at 25-456, and with my couplers, its 4.1 spd... Im doing massive damage now, and the only thing I need to do is keep stocked on the Quick Charge Couplers ..

My laser rifle does 24-552 at 6.2 speed. This is with a 21% max damageslice and a 30% max damage increase weapon powerup and i love it for PVE. If your on eclipse and looking for a decent rifle Keign produced mine and there only 8k each. Very cheap if you ask me.

Ok kind of a newbie Rifleman question......I use the odd power up and buy good ones when I can find it. What is the name of the ones that do a speed powerup? Also, I dropped 15k on a laser from good shop on naboo, 30 - 375, reload 6.9. Should I get it sliced? Just walk up to someone (smuggler) and ask?
