What are decent stats for a laser rifle?

Damage?

Speed?

HAM Costs?

Just bought one today, and it's lot's of fun. Any do some massive headshot damage with this thing. Almost is taking the fun out of PvP since the imps are dropping after a shot or two. Most players don't have alot of mind points which makes it oh so easy.

The one I bought had

19-309dm 13% wound chance around 6.1 speed ham encumb 14/23/62 which is better than my DLT20a that I was using! Typical damage is between 140-250 though I've seen it go over 1000 now and then when combinedwith headshot 2 and a weapon mod.

The same guy had others of varying quality

I saw some with a max damage as low as 200 and as high as 328 with speed varying between the low six's and the high eight's.

A good laser rifle has the base stats of the following:

15-310+ damage

Low 7s to high 6s refire.

HAM cost of 60ish mind.

With a slice and a weapon mod you can get a laser rifle up to 15-470 damage or so. Always use MAX DAMAGE weapon mods. DO NOT USE refire rate. Technically refire rate increase DPS slightly more (depending on weapon's original damage and delay), however the increased mind cost from firing more often kills you. You're better off with a 33 dps laser which shoots ever 7 seconds, than a 35 dps laser which shoots every 5 seconds. The latter will drain your mind in no time flat.

Oh, and with a 15-470 rifle, I can do hits of up to 1700 damage, but more often in the high 800s to low thousands.

I think that in practice the attack scores of laser rifes range to very low numbers (I've seen 12) to very high numbers, and I think that any laser rifle is worth almost any proce which it is sold for.

I am on Gorath Server as well and have looked all over for one. I checked out 3 different vendors (got their data from ingame email) All I can find are D20as. Everyone is concentrating on making pistols or carbines it seems. I asked one guy if he could make me a rifle and he seemed genuinely shocked that I would want one, and tried to sell me a carbine instead.

The ones with the very low numbers are either not player made, (15-200) or, the Weapon Crafter didnt experiment, or is screwing you over. I would rather have a good steady damage then some crap damage sometimes, then awsome damage other times. Plus, on starsider the Laser Rifle and T-21 materials have yet to be found.

I've spoken with a master weaponsmith on Gorath and that is the same scenario, the minerals aren't there to make the laser rifles / t21

from what i've sen, I prefer E11 rifles over laser rifles.

E11s are less damage, alot less.

Why is everyone just focusing on the maximum damage of the laser rifle? If you get an unlucky streak, you can hit for less than the worst CDEF rifle.I think a dlt20a with 100 minimum damage is much better for consistent DPS. I've tried E11 and SG82 (not fully experimented mind you) and even they were worse than my dlt20a.

I just bought a Laser rifle. 11-293 11.79 WC and 7.4 speed. I paid 17k. Not sure if it was too much but I already have Expert rifle now. I hope to find a slicer to modify it for a price. And I want to get a good Max Damage Weapon Mod.
