Thread: *Tested* T21 Rifle Armor Rating 0?!!?
I cant test this do to lack of resources on SS, Ill see if anyone on the Test team is willing.
Man, that T21 looks BAD ASS.
On a different note, your DPS with that puppy is 28.48 ((152+412)/2)/9.9). My DLT20A (112-180, 5.1spd) has a DPS of 28.63. That sucks, the T21 should have a HUGE DPS advantage over my crappy DLT20A. :/
DPS on that T21 = 50 some odd
DPS on my Pistol = 71
Well according to that formula..unless I messed up..either way I messed up the same way on both
Tell me thats not messed up?
How are you guys figuring DPS?
Can anyone tell me DPS for my T21:
238-575 spd 9.5
with my sliced spraystick 10-158 2.4..i have a better dps than a T21 ....that's so weird
Here is the way I do DPS calcuations:
((Min Damage + Max Damage) / 2 ) / Speed of the Weapon
For my DLT20A you get:
112 + 180 = 292
292 / 2 = 146
146 / 5.1 = 28.62 DPS
Similarly, the DPS of that T21 Rifle is:
152 + 412 = 564
564 / 2 = 282
282 / 9.9 = 28.48
Tanker9's sliced T21 has a DPS of 40
Yanger's T21 hasa DPS of almost 43! (I'm hoping that is sliced)
Konflict2's sliced Spraystick has a DPS of 35.
Hopefully, I'm doing these calculations correctly. Just remember there are other factors in the 'quality' of your weapon. The HAM cost associated with each weapon is of vital importance. A better indication of weapon effectiveness probably could be determined by a DPS per HAM calculation. A Spraystick has a higher DPS than the T21, but it fires ~4 times as fast to get that DPS. Are the HAM costs on the T21 4x as high as on the Spraystick? If not, you're expending more HAM to do more damage? Wouldn't it make sense for you to do more damage if you're expending more HAM? The other point I look at is the range of Min and Max damage. With the T21, you're guaranteed a good hit of probably no less than 500. With the Spraystick you could be hitting for 30. I, personally, like a more consistent damage output...which is probably why I'm still using my just 'OK' DLT20A and not aLaser Rifle. Sure I can nail someone for 1000 with HS, but I could hit them two or three times in a row for 50. Not worth it to me, especially when considering how fragile we are at close range.

Thanks alot.
You guys are wrong on the dps...
You guys don't know about armor rating yet? For each level of armor rating the gun has over the mob's armor rating, you multiply the damage by 25 percent. So on a armor level 0 mob the dps is this:
(152+412)/2 =282 now you multiply by 1.25 twice to get 440.625 and then divide by speed 9.9 and you get a dps of...44.5! Thats with the T21 working as it should, with an armor rating of 3.
Woops made a mistake, you actually multiply 282 by 1.25 three times, not two. So its
(152+412)/2 = 282 x 1.25 x 1.25 x 1.25 = 550.78125/9.9 = 55.6 dps for an armor rating 3 T21 rifle vs an armor 0, 0 resist mob.
If you look in that screenshot I posted, I hit for 478 in both the combat window and the number that floated above the mob's head.
If the T21 was working correctly, the number in the combat window would remain the same, but the number floating above the mob's head would be the modified damage. This modified damage takes into effect the fact that the T21 is an armor rating 3 weapon and is the true amount of damage the mob takes. So 478 floating over the mob's head should really be:
478 x 1.25 x 1.25 x 1.25 = 934!
Thats a huge difference and thats what this bug with the T21 Rifle is all about.
We were testing some bone armor with a T21. Bone armor got hit for 1700 damage and blocked about 1000 of it (Headshot2).
