Thread: Strafe Shot 2 Observations Since 6/29 Patch

I'm not familiar with that, as it has never affected strafe shot 2 before now but it's possible. And it's not that strafe shot 2 never hits any of the surrounding mobs...it does, but it's not the same as it was before. It's not nearly as destructive.

I noticed it last night while hunting nightisters, flushing shot 2 was more effective then strafe shot 2.

THis happens to everyone.

Before the patch there was a aggro limit of 7.

But, this happens WAY more often now, even when theres not 7 on ya.

Also, when you have a Combat Target then use a special on another target, it wont damage them. You have to /attack them then use specials. Stupid, huh?

I have also hit mobs that were not even on my radar (sometimes) with Advance Straffe, liek when I accidently aggroed a Nightsister Elder while I was running from a Rancor and was shooting, it was a mess

OMG im so glad someone else has noticed this, I have all but abandoned Strafe 2 now with all of its bugs and now this. Me being a rifle/doc my combat queue is bugged after the first battel now because all of the rifle shots and state heals/heals go into combat queue it fills up and gets stuck on healing or something and ill never see anythign else even thought im say doing a rifle special. Patch 9 seriously messed things up for me. and sometimes when you kill something with AOE you go to spawm specials on you main target and they just dissappear form the combat queue and i have to peace out then /attack and for the specials to stick anymore, god i hate bugs.

Use an AOE on one mob, the mobs around it get aggro'd, but the first hit that caused the initial aggro doesn't do any damage, but the ones afterward do.



Yup. Tis been around forever. Didn't know they had fixed it. If the mob hasn't aggro'd you, you can't hit it with aoe. After it finds you and aggros you though, aoe's will then affect it. /shrug.

I have to agree with raz1337, this isn't new since the publish. Our area attacks have never damaged non-aggro mobs, just aggravated them.

Then again I also don't know what people mean by a new strafe shot 2 animation. It looks the same to me.

My gripe is that Rifle Concealment isn't working, but I'm not sure that's the case yet. They changed combat rolls so that never failing was no longer possible. This was advertised in terms of being unhittable or never missing, but it could be that +100 rifle concealment is also no longer a 100% success rate.

I noticed this too. You see a hit above all the other mobs heads, but their HAMs don't go down. I never had this before, so maybe the "old bug" some have mentioned here didn't affect everyone. I only noticed this after the patch. It also seems to me that strafe2 is less destructive, like its taking longer to kill things. Not sure thats a bad thing.

This bug has caused me much trouble too. I've also noticed that I'm not always hitting what I'm targeted on. Yesterday I got into a rumble with a few people. I never switched targets but everytime they guy I was shooting incapped I would automatically start hitting someone else. I found this out by checking my combat queue and seeing that I took 3 sniper shots against the guy who killed me while the guy I was targeted on lay there incapped.


Back on track, the new animation is totally awesome with a disruptor.

This is nothing new. mobsare supposed to have to beagro toyou before AOEs affect them (except in the Geo cave, corvette, death watch bunker, NS cave, ect.[places where it hurts you to hit EVERYTHING within a 64m radius]when in these places mobs agro you from 3 floors below....lol). They "fixed" this 3 patches ago.


I think something got screwed up (along the same lines as the vendor/bazaar not giving the specs on resources). it's showing you something that shouldn't be there (what you WOULD have it if it was agroed to you).


If anything I'm seeing higher damage since the patch (I've seen some 6K hits, and I've never gotten higher than 5K before).

kind of annoying thou when ur nto master but at master just mean 2second wait till u can start killing them all anyway, i noticed it befor patch but it was different aoe attack flush2 but same thing strafe2 is still strong in my opinion
