Thread: Petition for a new Team Lead.
Lets answer some of your questions then because you are obviously very emotional about this when all I want is the best for our class. Where all you want is to make someone feel good. Sorry but I'm not wasting my time here on the forums to make people feel good, take care of that crap on your own time.
How do YOU know he isnt doing the best job possible? Because we have been nothing but nerfed since we have had THIS team lead.
How do YOU know he hasn't gotten more done for us than someone else? I don't know thats why I am asking for a change.
Maybe he's the ABSOLUTE BEST ... butin reality you have no way ofknowing do you? I don't think I would be asking for a change If he was the absolute best. I look at some of the other classes T:'s and I feel ours is sub-par compared to alot of em.
Maybe we would be EVEN WORSE OFF if anyone else had taken the job. I don't think we can much worse off then we are now.
Now besides everyone getting emotional and feeling the need to prop someone up who has done NOTHING for the class as of now, why not get our heads on straight and get someone in who:
A) Knows the class (Must be a master rifleman).
B) Is willing to stick to it and do monthly updates.
C) Will do as much as possible to get responses from the dev they are working with.
D) A person who participates in BOTH PvE and PvP and knows the nuances between the two.
Quit taking everything personal, and lets get a person who wants the class to be balanced. I don;t want a god character, but I do not want nerfing to oblivion either.
Balance is what we must seek. And if our TL wants the same he should step down in my opinion.
Suppression fire - we were told through the TC patches that all posture changes were being limited through a 30s timer where it could not be applied. Suppression fire is a posture change. No news here.
T21 vs. LLC/FT - LLC and FT normal attacks do less damage than a rifleman using a T21 and a special. LLC/FT specials DO do more damage - but have a range limitation around 14-16m. So at CLOSE range LLC/FT can outdamage a rifleman (barely, actually, in terms of DPS if you're considering master rifle/marksman) but the rifleman has better damage potential everywhere else. I don't know about the LLC/FT AE damages, so it's possible rifle AE is still superior, too.
Frankly, I don't see how Riflemen were 'nerfed' by the new patch. I'd judge the impact of the patch to be relatively minimal.
I am unwilling to be combative with you on what "I" should do next. I am not the team lead. Unless our TL is totally un-aware of the issues that we haveto dealwith, he knows the answers we want answered.
Just read a few posts back of mine and you can see the issues that matter the most at the present time.
How hard can it be to get some answers in a THIRTY DAY PERIOD from the dev who is assigned to the riflemen?

And if you think I am a bit JADED then you are probably correct. Whiner though, No. I just want something accomplished. I have said it before and I will say it again I have seen what happens to certain classes when issues are not PRESSED continually, they get put on the back burner and after awhilethe issuejustgets burnt.
And once again take yer "EMOTIONS" out of it and work towards accomplishing something with this class with the devs, so far NOTHING has been addressed from the first crop of issues that was sent.
But nerfs have come aplenty.

by the new patch since u have Strafe2 and uber rifle speed...or
you have not really played this game strictly as a sharpshooter...
You patch statement of minimal impact of rifflemen is ludicrious...
It affects our profession deeply from Sniper down to Novices...
And please tell me that u r able to get off more than one or
(if lucky) two shots before a mob come up at u...which means instant
death...if so...please let me know what magical rifle u r

Miss issue - we were told about this through the TC patches. If something is moving, it is both less accurate and harder to hit. The reason you're seeing more misses is because most of the time, either the attacker or the target (or both) are moving.

Your entirely way off the mark here. LLC and FT do more damage both normal AND special. Way more. The reason for the T-21 nerf specifically was to ELIMINATE one shot kills. Yet they give 2 classes the ability for one shot kills. I guess you have never seen a LLC hit for 2000 dmg.

- Now on to the issues submitted in the first document.
1) Cover – Cover seems to only work on the initial NPC attacked. The “friends” of the NPC seem to be able to find the player shooting. This occurs with Conceal Shot as well.
We’ll get this fixed for you.
- Not fixed by any means, and this is considered a major problem.
2) Surprise Shot – Surprise shot from cover seems to be broken. When used in cover it comes out as a regular shot or gives the error “You cannot do that with this weapon.”
We’ll look into this and get it fixed.

3) SG82 – The SG82 only has 110 condition compared to others 1000. This is a severe disadvantage when it only has slightly less ideal range.
We’ll get this fixed as well.
-Heh, this is not a major show stopper and somewhat insignificant since most people use T-21's or Lasers, but alas its not fixed.
4) Pistol VS Rifle Ranged Accuracy – Pistols accuracy from 64 meters seems to be equal to the rifles accuracy at 64 meters. But when moving closer to a target, the accuracy on a rifle suffers, while pistols remain the same.
Both are equally inaccurate from max range. The difference is within maximum range.
-Oh yes basically die we dont wanna fix this too much coding. A pistol SHOULD be as accurate from max range. Um ok sure.
5) Random Teleportation While Prone – There seems to be a bug that when prone you randomly teleport 10-30 meters from where you intend to be.
We’ll look into this and see if we can’t find an answer. - I don't know much about this one, but I do know something to add in here, MOBS teleporting directly to you, which absolutely BLOWS for a riflemen exping. They put teleporting mobs in to get rid of people exploiting and it just adds up to another nerf for riflemen.
6) Low Damage Output – Riflement feel that they have low damage output which makes them suffer in groups. Due to the length of time it takes to shoot, the targets are typically dead and the rifleman gets about 30% of the experience everyone else gets.
-Dont know where this came from but riflemens damage output is just fine. I can't believe this was submitted as a bug.
Now besides the nerfs we have recieved what has actually been done for this class?
All emotions aside and with the new ISSUES that have cropped up what can we do to make this class what it should be?
lol, your blaming me becuase the devs have put other things on there priority list.
You should think a little bit, this is a MMO, there are millions of things that need to be addressed, and some of those millions all want addressed, some of those millions, only a few want addressed.
naturally theres a priority lists, and some things needed a few things more then us. We were only nerfed? Please, the miss while moving...everyone was nerfed on movement and you miss, Not just us. Suppression Fire? Everyone was nerfed with that, all posture changes, and all KDs were nerfed.
The T21? Did youforget its AR3? Instead of looking in your combat window, look above the head.
The miss issue apllies to all classes as far as I know. Suppression fire is a marksman skill isn't it. I never use it anyways so I don't care. But if it is you should be complaining about it to the Marksman correspondent not the Rifleman.
As far a asking for a new lead, your off your rocker. I read most of the forums and as far as I know Aldeon is by far one of the most active and helpful out there. You really owe him an apology.

As a matter of fact I agree with you on most of your points. I think we've been nerfed much more than fixed. My entire point, if you go back and read my notes, is not that I think you're wrong on the nerfs, but that screaming for a new lead may or may not have anything to do with these problems.
So I went back to reread your original post and am now confused. The title of this thread does NOT match what you are saying in the first post.

You seem to acknowledge that the RC has no influence while calling for his head because he doesnt do anything.
And yes, my first reply was emotional because I happen to appreciate all the hard work that Aldeon has done for us and from what I've heard he is as active, if not more active, in this forum than most of the other correspondents are in theirs. I happen to believe that he truly cares about this profession and is doing his best to help it. I think the problem is not his, but on the other side of that "communication wall". The devs have admitted in THIS forum that they do not have time to actually play the game. If I said that, I'd be afraid to stick my head out too.
My second reply, however, was not emotional. I simply said, and repeat, that by working with the RC you may be able to better accomplish the goals you so adamantly espouse. Seems like a pretty good, straightforward idea, and I dont understand why you dance around that issue.

And you would know this HOW?? Reread your first post and then tell me why you think they would quickly (or at all)respond to Aldeon's reports.
Again, to clarify my stance:
1)I think the problem lies with the devs willingness to communicate regularly
2) I happen to believe that replacing Aldeon is a bad idea.
3) I agree with you on our problems.

Yes, suppression is from the Marksman tree
but one thing u have to keep in mind is that
it really was strictly used by most of
us sharpshooters...the other classes had there
knockdown/freeze shots (Stun, Blind, etc...)...
i have hardly ever seen a pistoleer used
suppression...
It's just that we had a technique that worked
and they nerfed it, thats sooo frustrating...
Yes, and pistoleers, and caribines, and everyone else had a techinique that worked, and they nerfed that too. It was a global nerf, to encourage grouping. There overall goal, is to stop soloing to master levels.
They even went and removed the pistol knockdown, now its carbine/ carbine BH/Smuggler
