Actually it makes a lot of sense for rifles and carbines. Think about it, the rifles especially are big heavy guns. You're not gonna run near as fast carrying one of those as you are empty handed. It makes less sense with pistols as they shouldn't really slow you down much.

I also think that big swords and power hammers would have a weapon hinderance. But I understand that the devs put the hinderances for ranged to give melee a chance to get in range - provided they aren't rooted or under kneecap shot effects.

go see what a big, heavy, M-16 weighs, then make that statement.

i agree with the fact that it is a balance point. give melee a chance to catch up. it just slighly muddies the immersion.

OK... melee needs to catch up.. i can see that...

Why does a danncer carrying a t21, have the same running speed as me, carrying a spraystick?

Why does my extremely heavy, movement limiting, sight obstucting armor not cause meany hinderance?

My does somone completely uncerted in an armor type wearing a full suit of assault armor, run just as fast as me, while i wear 0 armor, and have my mastered weapon equiped?

Because he is exploiting.

Seriously, this balance is needed or melee would be even more gimped that it is currently - if you can shoot them at 65m and start kiting, they need to have a chance of closing in and scoring a hit to KD or root you. You can prevent them from closing in using snare or root attacks, though.

the highlite statement is impossible:

Without an armor cert you can not even put it on. If you are low level and try to wear the best armor (advanced) you will be hindered like you would not believe. You can wear basic armor at novice - this would not hinder you but it would only allow a max 20% reduction in damage taken. If you wear standard or advanced you would shoot slow, move slower, and miss much more often.

you armor does not restrict you as you are a master - you have learned how to use your armor (drop some skills and see if you can do the same stuff ^_-

Ranged weapons = ranged weapon for movement purposes. Well this is may not be exactly true. Pistols should have less of a movement restriction then carbs which have less of one then rifles. ( I need to test this but that was one of the ideas) A rifle is treated as a rifle no matter the size as it would be computationally limiting to have every weapon have a different hinderance. They may have evened out the pistol/carb/rifle differences to the great god of internet lag.

Masters have weapon hindrance because there's no system in place to increase a player's muscle mass, which would allow them to carry heavier gear with less effort.

Plus the balance issue.

I don't really see this as a problem. If I need to run, I burstrun, then unequip my weapon when I'm no longer taking damage for even faster movement to let me "break aggro".
When wandering around a "safe" area, I unequip my gun to move faster.
So we see fair fewer people running around with assorted weapons all the time, running as fast as someone "carrying" nothing, etc.

Masters gain other bonuses for being masters - higher accuracy, firing speed and defense. You could consider that a lower "hindrance" if you wanted.

1- They need the Master RM cert so I don't think they can do that.....

2- Because it's distributed all over your body and you are conditioned to wearing armor. Also they have little electronics that actually make your sight better

3- Read number 1.....

Yeah I know alot don't make sense, but then again alot of things don't make sense.........

I do think that Masters of a particular weapon should be able to mitigate the movement limitation. Except for Heavy Weapons.

Launcher Pistols are "Heavy Weapons".

It wouldn't be fair to only impose the movement restriction on Commandoes. A T-21 would likely weigh around the same as a Flamethrower and their new Lightning Cannon/Rifle is actually a good deal smaller.
