Thread: is Rifleman still gimped (for PvP)?
Same here Selfyn.. added an element of urgency when you see something nasty closing the range.. i think this is the prelude to the much hated idea ofthe 3.0sec speed cap

I'm disappointed to see 2.5x melee go, it was a weakness I liked and I have a feeling it will be replaced by something I won't like.
Anything other than master=oooo...you sooooo gonna die...I'm not yet far enough removed from my non-master days to forget how much I died in PvP...now maybe I wasn't employing tactics enough...but i think I tried most of them and I still died 9 times out of 10
It depends on your deffinition of PvP. In duels against similarly skilled opponents it is 50-50. If I start at range of 30m or less melee guys whipe me out. At 45m+ I have adecent sucess against them. But I don't really see that as a good measure of PvP abilities.
In battles involving groups, the fog of war settles in and really helpsme out. I ama 4344 CH so I havetwo pets out. I set one on guard and send the other one on my target. This is primarilly to draw the agro of any pets he may have on guard. Then I let loose with either MS1+2/HS2 orSS2 depending on therelative size of the mind pool.Ranged DB is an awaome edge that really does not come into play in duels. If I incap someone I nearly always get the DB in, and I do not have to close range to do so. Which in turn lets me stay on the edge of the battle and not to draw too much attention. Sometimes I have a carabiner with me and then I hit the dizzy aoe first to work with her KD and it works real well.Working in a team of two is always a lot more effective than solo.Whether thebattle is a win or a loss I will either die or survive, but I always take out a number of people.
So far from what I see theside thatitbetter prepared, wins. That is why you see relatively small groupsromp through the opposition NP cities (player cities have bases, minefields andturrets and are a much harder target). You come in buffed up, armored up, powered up and concetrated, you are going to roll over the opposition, I don't care what your profession is. If you then stick around long enough for them to get their act together, they will whipe you out. Thatis how most city raids end.
just a tipe - against those highly defensive templates (ex: fencer + pistoleer), stack an aim or two in front of your shot. maybe keep a macro handy that does
/aim; /headshot2
it should greatly increase your to-hit bonus.
Yeah I have 2 of those set up on my task bar for the Neo bullet-dodgers out there....
/aim ; /strafeshot2
and
/aim ; /headshot2
