Thread: Lack of T21 Resources *Response From The Development Team*

Armor damage is double dumb in PvE. I dont want to damage some stupid NPC's armor, since he will end up dieing to me anyway, or, if he wins, he and his banged up armor disapear, and a fresh him spawn right after him.

I can understand (i totally disagree with, but understand) the devs wanting to institute a armor destroying/griefing special attack. Pistoleers almost got a disarming shot that damaged weapons, not players, despite not asking for it or wanting it. What i cannot understand is a whole fundimental weapon system like armor penetration being devoted souly to griefing other players.

As far as there being complex coding for the combat system, good hell man, how complex did they make it? I know almost nothing about computer programing, and i could write the code for the combat system. All they need to do is make sure they have the basic formula's syntax right, then surround it with snazzy effects, like numbers popping off heads and so forth. As far as everybody and their mother posting how armor works, then that not being how armor works...could you guys use 10 of my $15 to pay a dude to pull your heads out of your asses?

Man i hope the stuff on this thread is just wild rumors, because if they are not...

Not that T-21s are all that hot anyway. AP is really wierd, I was helpingrun some tests earlierand it doesn't seem anything like what it's supposed to be...

As a matter of fact, AP doesn't work the way the Armor Guide originally said. It was later changed, or supposed to have been, to reflect how AP actually works. If someone has a link to the Armor Guide that would be great. I can't find it to check it out myself.

I actually was one of the people helping ace test it, but shesuggested tolet her ask about it before posting anything.

The formula is actually wierder than it seems, though. On armor that has less than 50% resist, damage is slightly increased beyond what it mathematically should be by a few percent, and above 50% it's a little low. Still have no idea **edit** is going on there.

Either way, it's a good thing. You know thoselight +100% energy resistant Nightsisters on dathomir? They're only 25% resistant to a T-21. I've killed them (very hard), so it does work...

Oh wait, damage bonus to ARMOR? that's not how I got it, at least not in majority. It looks like every point of AP that you exceed your target's armor rating by, youhalve the resistance of your target. so, Unarmored, 80% resistant target is only 10% resistant to a T-21.

At least, in theory. In actual tests, it came out to more like 17%, which isdarned wierd.

Personally, I like it, I just wish they hadn't slipped it in stealthy like in the middle of september.

Evidently. I wonder why people want T-21 when they seem to suck so much. I never had a "pre-nerf one" though. Laser rifle seems to be the best, since it has AP2. Unless I come up against something with medium armor I will use Laser. If it has medium, and a weakness to Cold/Stun then to SG or Jawa.

Bah didn't mean to post. Also, where did the Development team say this? I read the Thread TH made for resources, and he said some resources are meant to be rare, and that stuff like Osterine(sp ) and Dolomite should spawn rarely so they are worth more.

It's just that in the resource thread:

Thunderheart wrote:

Well the resources issue isn't a cluster issue. The resources issue is a balance between different game systems. The thing is that "rare resources" are intended and they give the game a really rich flavor to the commodities market. For example, good aluminum is hard to find now. It was plentiful at first, but now its rare. There are resource merchants and crafters who are making a bundle right now because they SAVED their resources and their stuff is in demand right now - - it is a successful commodity.

In a couple of months when good aluminium spawns again, the commodity price will go down, demand will go down and something else will go up. That works and works well.

The issue is that some schematics require things that are rare and because they havent spawned yet, its really dry. They will spawn, but this is the first cycle. The aluminum cycle I described is coming full circle - - the next time players see good aluminum, they will know its worth and the market will take effect.

On the Gemstones, its tough because they havent spawned yet. They will though. The problem is that everyone wants the T21 rifle.

I have good news on that, but if I say that its coming next week and it gets pushed off a week or so, you guys will torch me so when I can give you a definate answer, I will.

Makes it sound like they aren't doing anything.

Ok, let me get this straight, the AP doesn't grand additional damage to the HAM pools, but grants damage to the condition of the armor? Yes the armor decreases the damage to the HAM pools?

What kind of backwards logic is that?

I'm glad I gave up rifleman now... I thought I was going to be doing better damage when they fixed this "bug"... now I know I got my max damage, I can move on to another "bugged" profession.

Please someone respond saying that my statement is completely false..../cry..

So... how soon is 1-2 patches?

And just so you know, without T-21s... People of Tarq have made some GODLY Laser Rifles to compensate. You'll never fire one of our godly rifles, but we'll never fire a T-21...

I can vouch for that, amongst my several (okay 17) laser rifles all range about 370-424 Max Dmg before I got any of them sliced, with powerup and dmg slice my best one ever was Max Dmg 705 (and Mind cost was only like 59 on this one).

Even if Tarq gets T21's anytime soon I know they'll be attrociously expensive probably moreso than what Holocrons have gone for on this server... -_-

I Know nothing about armor but what I do know is, if I fight an Ancient bull rancor with my group, it only dies because My t21 says so.
