Rifleman IMHO is still very underpowered and underprivileged. At the proper range we shold be all powerful, almost like a TKM is at close range. We should be keeping all other professions (eyeshot spammers) humble to the power of true mind pool attacks. These modifiers are a weak attempt at pacifying a profession that should rightfully be "uber". Anyone that knows what a "sniper" is capable of should know that having such a title should include more than a nerf'd special and weapon. I do not appreciate such a juvenile attempt to sway the true masters of the rifle. We need more than what they are giving.

Just want to make a comment on that thanks to the new social rules of npc conceal shot got its value back.

Noone in a whole group sees you, making you take down much heavier targets without having a tank.

Im on the tarquinas server. When I look on the rifleman boards and see the post about how the t-21 needs to be reverted back...i want to cry. I just wish i had the chance of experencing the problem of owning a t-21. I have played the game since day one waiting to use this weapon. While jedi are running about I still get to use my trusty laser rifle. I dont even know what a t-21 looks like. I think that all rifleman should petition the devs. to bring the t-21 to us.

Totally agree - need a T21 on Tarq. Don't know what they look like and am too stubborn to look at a database to find out. I want my first view of one when I buy it and it is in my hairy paws.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the Rifleman Profession.

Although, as previously stated, there are some issues that need to be addressed, especially the 'prone-warping'. That is frustrating as all H#@L. The crawlspeed modifier also needs some tweaking. I have 1,3,1,1 at the moment and I haven't really noticed any difference in my crawlspeed than I had before I got Novice Rifleman. I gave up Sniping II because Headshot 3 is useless.

But with Expert Concealment, I am now able to do things I previously thought were impossible without a group of at least five others, including BH's and MCH's.

Rifleman is the only profession that can solo just about any mission, given a lot of time and patience. There's no greater feeling than single-handedly taking down an AT-ST or a Dark Jedi Master.

PvP might be another issue, but I don't do too much of that anyway. There's little reward in it.

If there had to be one change, I'd wish they either reverted the Power of the T21 back to it's original Stats, (Most Laser Rifles are more powerful and T21's supposed Heavy Armor Piercing damage ratio doesn't seem to be any better than a Laser Rifle's, they pretty much even out since the Laser Rifle is more powerful) or create a new type of Rifle for Rifleman to climb the tree for certification. BH's and Commandos have all kinds of nice new toys to play with when they climb their respective trees. Rifleman only get on certification and that is when you get Novice, again, T21 not as impressive a weapon it once was.

How about some kind of Heavy Mounted Energy Rifle in which the player could not move while equipped with this weapon, but be able to do similar damage to, say that of a Flamethrower, given the proper range?

Well i am not anywhere close to master so i may be missing alot. I may also have to find a better t21. Cause it does more initial damage but i shoot so slow and the mind cost hits me so hard that i switch to laser. However lately i have been hunting in larger groups. Now if i have the time and cant just get good clean shots off. I can most of the time drain the mind pool with the T21 before 2 ppl and pets can drop the health bar. So i guess i need to somewhat retract my earlier post. My bad i am just saying that it doesnt seem the SUPER weapon that some ppl think it is.

You really arent missing much. As one of the earlier posts suggest. You can get a laser rifle that will do much more damage or about the same. It doesnt seem to make much difference. I havent seen one that is GREAT. AND it eats your mind up as fast as any wep i have used. I always have to have a power up that reduces mind cost. Or i will just get eaten alive. PLUS it doesnt look all that great. Its a big rifle though.

Nah, I gotta disagree here. Only thing I use my Laser Rifle for these days is lair destruction, and that's only to save wear-and-tear on my T21.

The tighter variance and the AP3 make all the difference in the world.

well, don't feel bad.

I had to boost my willpower/focus up to 850 each and mind to 750 in order to use more than 2 special shots.

Now I can do probably 6 or so before my mind runs out.

I also don't use powerups anymore because it degrades my rifle far far far too quickly, and it seems like the weaponsmiths cant get it to repair fully, ever. So now my rifle is down to 300 durability. bleh.

not to mention that I don't think our bonuses have done next to nothing.

Instead of missing 5 shots in a row, I only miss 4; then they proceed to kick the living bejeezus out of me. Same goes with ranged defense. I think they miss just slightly above 0% more than before.

Now why would go and kill poor sweet defenseless AT-STs for????

Talking about the T21...I bought one a few weeks ago. I love the fact that it has AP3. I also had it sliced for speed which puts it in around the same area as most laser rifles unsliced. I get around the HAM costs to the mind by using Muon Gold which I keep in my toolbar ready to be used.

Now I solo'd my first mission since the patch yesterday after a crash. Usually I have an AT-ST out to help me tank my way through but since he ended up being put away and I didn't feel like going back to my house to bring him back out, I just went and did the mission anyways. 6 high level Rebels were killed. Now for some reason even with being incapped twice, they never db'd me. And this was with one of them bleeding at the time. That's when I found out that they changed the bleed rules at the same time as the poison rules for CMs. But I still don't know why I wasn't deathblowed. Uber experience was gained. The largest being somewhere around 3300 for one dead Rebel.

Now that i'm near to Master-Rifleman (4-2-4-3) i'm extremely happy with the new changes. /sigh* if the changed would have come earlier it wouldnt have taken so much time (about 5-6 weeks) to get what i'm now.

The changes on social critters (they don't attack until your target notices you) together with the fixed ConcealShot is really AWSOME GREAT !! Giant Kimogilas, Krayts and AT-STs (i didn't see a Force-sensitive NPC right now, but i'll try it out too) is now easy to solo if you're just patient enough (and i dont't use a pet, MounGold or something else), this way i managed to get even 5000+ XP per critter for the first time.

Just one thing to take care of while conceal-shotting critters: if the critter attacks something else (ex.: other Players or aggro critters) instantly stop attacking and go out of range until your target ends his attacking, else it seems that his fight against others can break your conceal, i incapped this way very often (dunno if it's a bug or it should be this way, but it's easy to handle and IMO ConcealShot would be too powerfull without some sort of things like that anyway).

As you often read on the boards "go 1-0-0-x , then 1-0-3-x , then whatever you want" i would suggest "go 1-0-0-x , then 1-1-0-x , then 1-1-3-x " now, as with concealshot it's much easier and faster to get the XPs for FlushingShot2.

And my last comment for now: Of course i would like to see a stronger T21, but on Gorath i could find many T21s that have stats like 130 min to 350-400 max damage. I dont think that these are the best and i would like to find a T21 with about 500 max damage - but with AP and overall damage compaired to Laser-Rifles i only use my (one of 6 T21s i own in complete till now) T21, the LaserRifle i only use when a Critter/NPC notices me and i have to run away because it's faster (sometimes even switch to my FWG5, depends on the Target and my chances to get meleed by it). So IMO the T21 is OK right now, but i would strongly suggest to see an other Rifle (and so Rifle-Certification in the tree) thats stronger but has more negative affects (ex.: more HAM-Usage or loss of moving-ability while using the rifle). For all Servers that have never seen a T21 right now, we should all together strongly suggest to the devs to make the ressources available on these servers!

Before getting flamed ... I'm not a Master Rifleman right now, and anyway i feel very powerfull even alone or in groups anyway. I've got enough SkillPoints left to get supporting skills like Medic or Scout, and together with my mind-bleeding- and Flushing-Shots my Hunting-Group-Members love me . I think with this new patch it has gotten much easier to klimb the rifleman skill tree (what has been my greatest wish/issue to this profession), there are still some things that should change, but i hope with this new patch there should be less whiners on our boards now...

Increasing the damage on the 21 would make riflemasters unstoppable.. I can now see why they were nerfed in the first place tbh - as much as i hate to admit it. I really dont want rifle to become FOTM.. ever.. though thx to the 'crazy holorush of 2003' this seems to be more and more the case.
