snorbals arent bad at all - once you get the hang of kiting them - can kite them for quite a long time, my highest was about 10 at a time - but 26 of them non stop.
makes combat xp seem like nothing.
and rifleman are in no way gimped in pvp - muon gold helps wonders. no complaints at all. i dont even have an t21 on ahazi yet. ![]()
only catch is you have to suffer until master.... then its grand.
Dont know how this degressed to PvE stuff, but I think I was able to make my point that we are not gimped in the damage department.
No commando/smuggler/pistoleer/carbineer would be me and my doctor, simply because of heath/action buffs and heals. They can't hit mind so they can't win. So far the best fight I've been in was me, my doctor and 3 stormtroopers vs 3 rebel players and 3 rebel pets. We won. Wasn't even close. Kept the doctor busy but we came out on top no problem.
Pets own, mind wounds own. Stuff that hits health and action
But you're still right about PvE. Riflemen can kite Snorbals! Yay. Pistoleers and Carbineers can kite them and kill a whole lot of other stuff with a lot less risk and trouble due to having higher DPS and lower melee damage penalty. Snorbal warps and hits you, you die. Snorbal warps and hits a pistoleer it's no problem.
And then when you group the lower DPS means lower XP when competing with other classes. I'm not convinced that PvP superiority is a good balance for this. Mind damage means nothing in PvE because almost nothing heals itself anyway.
By the time you're a master, of course, you get strafeshot2, which owns, and you can shoot once per second with any weapon but by that time you obviously don't need any more XP so it's a moot win except for PvP.
Hmmm.. I'm only 2-2-2-2 in the Rifleman tree, I have a T21 that's 119-332 5.8 second delay.. I generally use 31% max damage, 14% min damage powerups, and groups complain all the freaking time that I'm doing too much damage.. I was grouped with some rl friends the other day, and we were conferenced on the phonetelling each other how much exp we got...I ended up putting away my T21 and got some pistol and carbine exp because they were getting upset that when I used my T21 I would get more than double everyone else's exp (it was pretty ridiculous.. the bounty hunter would get 500ish exp while I received over 2k). Admittedly when I first hit novice I would get far less than everyone, but you don't have to move high up the tree to be your group's biggest damage dealer.. This was grouped with a pretty high fencer, anear masterteras kasi, a bounty hunter with maxed out pistol skills, and a combat medic. What I'm saying is you don't have to move high up the Rifleman tree to be a high damage dealer. We're not gimped, just that our sole role as rifleman is to deal out highdamage... it is the one thing we do well.
Gay means happy and that's a fitting description for Snorbals, because Snorbies are my favorite solo target. Yes Lok is a minefield and there will be some snorbals you have to avoid because there is no room to run. But up in the salt flats (looks like the South Dakota Wastelands) NW of Nym's you can find nice open areas to play with the Snorbies all day. Also Snorbals are bad at going up hill so if you get them in a valley you can go back and forth all day. And if you have a teammate and you get the snorbal in the valley while you both taketurnsdrawing the snorbie back and forth it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

Question - how do you cut-and-paste in swg, and how do you get that combat window up showing the hits?

There are options for copy & paste in the keymap part of options, I think the chat tab has them.
I got 1 box of rifleman from slow mobs, the rest was done from Feral Banthas, Giant Baz Nitches and other random mobs. You should easily be able to make 60kan hourfrom GBN if you use the skills available to you.
